Vietnam is one of the 10 friendliest countries in the world.

To help travelers make their international travel choices easier, InterNations conducted a global survey of over 180 countries to find out which ones are the most expat-friendly. The top 10 are:

1. Portugal
2. Taiwan
3. Mexico
4. Cambodia
5. Bahrain
6. Costa Rica
7. Oman
8. Colombia
9. Vietnam
10. Canada

Portugal was voted the friendliest country in the world. According to a survey, 94% of Portuguese locals are friendly towards foreigners and most are always interested in visitors. About 36% of expats said they felt at home as soon as they arrived in Portugal; 47% said they would like to move to Portugal.

Costa Rica ranks first in having expats make local friends, with 78% of visitors agreeing. Furthermore, 88% of respondents feel satisfied with their new life in Costa Rica and 81% feel at home in their new culture. This is also why 48% of expats express their intention to stay in Costa Rica long-term (compared to 29% globally).

In this prestigious ranking, Vietnam is honored to be in the top 10, this is the first time our country has been on the list.

According to the World Population Review, tourists traveling abroad can easily feel isolated when they come to a completely foreign country, meeting people who do not share the same language in a new culture, with different customs and habits... Therefore, going abroad will become much easier and more interesting if tourists choose to come to a "friendly country". It is this friendly attitude with a positive view of strangers and people of other cultures and races that has helped Vietnam to be among the friendliest countries in the world - according to the evaluation and votes of tourists from 180 countries and territories.

Through the survey, we can see new trends to attract tourists in the current context. From there, businesses can have more basis to build suitable products to attract international visitors after the pandemic.
