To help travelers more easily choose international destinations, InterNations conducted a global survey of over 180 countries to find out which countries are the most foreigner-friendly. The top 10 selected include:

Portugal has been chosen as the friendliest country in the world. According to a survey, 94% of Portuguese locals are friendly towards foreigners, and most are always attentive to visitors. Approximately 36% of foreigners said they felt right at home upon arriving in Portugal; 47% said they wished to move to Portugal.
Costa Rica ranks first in terms of the number of foreigners making friends with locals, with 78% of visitors agreeing with this statement. Furthermore, 88% of respondents expressed satisfaction with their new life in Costa Rica, and 81% felt at home in their new culture. This is also why 48% of foreigners expressed an intention to stay in Costa Rica long-term (compared to 29% globally).

In this prestigious ranking, Vietnam is honored to be included in the top 10, marking the first time our country has been named on the list.
According to World Population Review, tourists traveling abroad often feel isolated when visiting a completely unfamiliar country, meeting people who don't share the same language in a new culture, with customs and habits different from their own. Therefore, traveling abroad becomes much easier and more enjoyable if tourists choose to visit a "friendly country." This friendly attitude and positive outlook towards strangers and people from different cultures and ethnicities has helped Vietnam rank among the friendliest countries in the world – based on assessments and votes from tourists across 180 countries and territories.
