Booking.com, one of the world's leading online travel platforms, has announced the Top 10 most hospitable cities and Top 5 most hospitable regions in Vietnam as part of the 13th annual Traveller Review Awards 2025.
As travel demands increasingly shift towards authentic, personalized experiences and local connections, hospitality continues to play a key role in creating memorable journeys. According to this year's results, Hoi An tops the ranking of Vietnam's most hospitable cities, and Kien Giang is honored as the most hospitable region, followed in order by Ninh Binh, Quang Nam, Ha Giang, and Lao Cai.
Kien Giang, home to the famous Phu Quoc Island, tops the rankings with its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and peaceful resort atmosphere, making it one of the Top 10 Most Hospitable Regions in the World in 2025.
The regions honored this year reflect the geographical diversity and cultural depth of Vietnam's tourism. Kien Giang, home to the famous Phu Quoc Island, leads the ranking with its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and peaceful resort atmosphere. Further solidifying its growing appeal, Kien Giang was also recognized by Booking.com as one of the Top 10 Most Hospitable Regions in the World for 2025.
Regarding ranking criteria, each destination must have a minimum of 50 eligible accommodation establishments. Rankings are calculated based on the ratio of award-winning establishments to the total number of accommodation establishments in the locality. For regions, a minimum of 200 eligible accommodation establishments is required. Rankings are determined based on the percentage of award-winning establishments compared to the total number of establishments in the region.
Speaking at the Traveller Review Awards ceremony in Phu Quoc on April 17th, honoring Kien Giang province for its win, Mr. Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, said: "Hospitality in Vietnam has always truly impressed us. This year's list of hospitable cities and regions is clear evidence of the warmth and friendliness that travelers experience throughout the country. From the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An to the tranquil beaches of Kien Giang, these destinations continue to impress with their authentic local character and exceptional service. In particular, Kien Giang province achieved an impressive feat by being named among the Top 10 most hospitable regions in the world, and is the only destination in Asia to win this title, with nearly 581 accommodations receiving awards."
Mr. Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, spoke at the event honoring Kien Giang province for receiving the Traveller Review Awards in Phu Quoc on April 17th.
According to statistics for the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang province welcomed over 3.1 million visitors, an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period last year. Phu Quoc alone received over 2 million visitors, including 474,468 international tourists, a sharp increase of 66.5%. In January and February alone, Phu Quoc welcomed 1.4 million visitors, with over 320,000 international tourists, an increase of 52.7%.
Mr. Tran Van Linh, Head of the Tourism Management Department of the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, added: "The orientation towards developing high-end, high-quality tourism products has contributed to consolidating the position of Phu Quoc and Kien Giang on the Vietnamese tourism map. In the coming time, Phu Quoc will continue to focus on resort, beach, island, ecological, and cultural tourism, aiming for the high-end tourism segment. For the upcoming April 30th holiday, it is expected that room occupancy at resorts on Phu Quoc Island will increase sharply, with the 4-5 star segment potentially reaching over 80%, while resorts and villas will reach around 70%. This award is a motivation for Kien Giang to continue developing and upgrading infrastructure, diversifying tourism products, and improving service quality."
