Kien Giang is one of the Top 10 friendliest destinations in the world in 2025

Kien Giang province is the only representative of Vietnam and Asia to be included in the top 10 "World's Friendliest Destinations" in Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards 2025.

Booking.com, one of the world's leading online travel platforms, has announced the Top 10 cities and Top 5 most hospitable regions in Vietnam as part of the 13th Traveller Review Awards 2025.

As travel demand increasingly shifts towards authentic, personal experiences and local connections, hospitality continues to play a key role in creating a memorable journey. According to this year’s results, Hoi An leads the ranking of the most hospitable cities in Vietnam and Kien Giang is honored as the most hospitable region, followed in order by Ninh Binh, Quang Nam, Ha Giang, Lao Cai.

This year’s honored regions reflect the geographical diversity and cultural depth of Vietnam’s tourism. In terms of ranking criteria, each destination must have at least 50 eligible accommodation establishments. The ranking is calculated based on the ratio of the award-winning establishments to the total number of accommodation establishments in the locality. In the regions, there must be at least 200 eligible accommodation establishments. The ranking is determined based on the percentage of the award-winning establishments compared to the total number of establishments in the region.

Sharing at the event honoring Kien Giang province for winning the Traveller Review Awards in Phu Quoc on April 17, Mr. Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, said: "Hospitality in Vietnam has always been something that really impresses us. Mr. Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, spoke at the event honoring Kien Giang province for winning the Traveller Review Awards in Phu Quoc on April 17.

According to statistics in the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang welcomed more than 3.1 million visitors, an increase of 13.7% over the same period. Phu Quoc alone welcomed more than 2 million visitors, including 474,468 international visitors, a sharp increase of 66.5%. In January and February alone, Phu Quoc welcomed 1.4 million visitors, with more than 320,000 international visitors, an increase of 52.7%.

Mr. Tran Van Linh - Head of Tourism Management Department, Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism added: "The orientation of developing high-end, high-quality tourism products has contributed to consolidating the position of Phu Quoc and Kien Giang on the Vietnam tourism map. In the coming time, Phu Quoc will continue to focus on resort, sea, island, ecological and cultural tourism, aiming at the high-end tourism segment. On the upcoming April 30 holiday, it is expected that room occupancy at resorts on the Pearl Island will increase sharply, in which the 4-5 star segment can reach over 80%, while resorts and villas will reach about 70%. This award is a motivation for Kien Giang to continue to develop and upgrade infrastructure, diversify tourism products and service quality".
