Recently, at Duong Dong port (Duong Dong ward), the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City welcomed the Italian-flagged cruise ship AIDA Stella, carrying 2000 international tourists. Notably, among the visitors from around the world, tourists from Europe accounted for the majority, approximately 60%, with the remainder coming from China and Hong Kong. This event marks a significant milestone in the development of Phu Quoc's tourism industry, affirming the attractiveness of this beautiful island to international tourists.
According to the island tour itinerary, international tourists visit popular attractions in Phu Quoc City such as Phu Quoc Safari, Phu Quoc Grand World, Hon Thom cable car, and the Kissing Bridge (in An Thoi ward), and enjoy meals and shop for local specialties. Afterwards, the international tourists will return to the boat in the afternoon of the same day to continue their tour.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City shared some encouraging news: in recent months, the number of international tourists visiting the island has grown significantly. This shows the increasing attractiveness of Phu Quoc on the international tourism map.
According to estimates, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome nearly 6 million visitors in 2024, an impressive number, including nearly 1 million international tourists. This is a positive sign, not only affirming Phu Quoc's position as a leading domestic tourist destination, but also contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam to the world, attracting more international tourists to explore the beauty of the country.
In preparation for welcoming the luxury tourism segment to the island, the local authorities are urgently accelerating the completion and upgrading of a series of infrastructure facilities throughout the island, from transportation and accommodation to entertainment services. Not only focusing on building modern and luxurious facilities, the locality is also paying special attention to environmental sanitation, ensuring a clean and beautiful landscape that creates a positive first impression for tourists. This includes strengthening waste collection and treatment, renovating public areas, planting more trees, and protecting the marine environment.
This is a positive sign for tourism in Phu Quoc at the end of the year.
All these efforts are aimed at building an image of Phu Quoc not only as a beautiful island and beach tourist destination but also as a high-class, luxurious destination that meets the increasingly high demands of tourists, especially the high-end customer segment.
The Kien Giang Department of Tourism announced that the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee has developed a plan to restructure the tourism industry and the international tourist market. The province will continue to increase the proportion of European tourists and focus on exploiting the markets of Southeast Asia, China, South Korea, India, and the Middle East.
