Phu Quoc City is pleased to welcome the AIDA Stella cruise ship (Italian nationality) carrying more than 2,000 international passengers to Duong Dong port.
The Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee shared some good news: in recent months, the number of international tourists to the pearl island has grown quite strongly. This shows the growing attraction of Phu Quoc on the international tourism map.
It is estimated that in 2024, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome nearly 6 million visitors, an impressive number, of which the number of international visitors is estimated to reach nearly 1 million. This is a positive signal, not only affirming Phu Quoc's position as a leading domestic tourist destination, but also contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam to the world, attracting more international tourists to explore the beauty of the country.
In order to prepare for welcoming luxury tourists to the island, the local government is urgently speeding up the completion and upgrading of a series of infrastructures across the island, from transportation, accommodation to entertainment services. Not only focusing on building modern and luxurious works, the locality also pays special attention to environmental sanitation, ensuring the landscape is always clean, fresh, creating a good impression for visitors at first sight. This includes strengthening the collection and treatment of waste, renovating public areas, planting more trees and protecting the marine environment.
This is a good sign for tourism in Phu Quoc at the end of the year.
All these efforts are aimed at building an image of Phu Quoc as not only a beautiful island tourist destination but also a classy, luxurious destination, meeting the increasing demands of tourists, especially the high-end customer segment.
Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee has a project to restructure the tourism industry and the international tourist market. The locality continues to increase the proportion of European tourists and focus on exploiting the markets of Southeast Asian, Chinese, Korean, Indian and Middle Eastern tourists.
