Train number SNT4 departed from Saigon Station on the evening of November 29th with 462 passengers. This was a 10-day cross-Vietnam tourist train trip. According to the itinerary, the outbound journey started from Hanoi to Da Nang, then continued to Binh Thuan and Ho Chi Minh City. The return journey started from Saigon Station to Nha Trang, then Hue, and finally back to Hanoi.
Upon arriving in Nha Trang, the group of tourists was warmly welcomed by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism and the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association. Each tourist received a wreath and a souvenir gift.
This is the second time a foreign tourist has taken a charter train across Vietnam, and the first time this trip has visited Nha Trang.
A group of 462 Chinese tourists embarked on a 12-day, 12-night charter tour across Vietnam. They entered Vietnam through the Mong Cai border gate in Quang Ninh province. After visiting Ha Long Bay, the group traveled to Hanoi to take a cross-Vietnam train tour with the following itinerary: Hanoi - Da Nang - Binh Thuan - Ho Chi Minh City (outbound); Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang - Hue - Hanoi (return). In Nha Trang, the group stayed one night in a 4-star hotel and visited several tourist attractions such as: Ponagar Tower, Hon Chong scenic spot, Thap Ba Nha Trang Hot Spring Center, VinWonders Nha Trang, Nha Trang Bay, etc.
Many travelers on the trip shared their experiences of the beautiful Vietnamese scenery from the train.
Furthermore, this event also aims to foster collaboration among agencies, the railway sector, and tourism businesses in the province, with the goal of building a "friendly, high-quality, and safe" image for Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism. Simultaneously, it aims to perfect a new tourism product – the Trans-Vietnam train tour – to help Khanh Hoa become one of the leading destinations on the Asian tourism map, fulfilling the objectives of Resolution 09-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2022, of the Politburo on the development of Khanh Hoa province until 2023, with a vision to 2045.
This is a great opportunity for Khanh Hoa province to promote its image to international friends.
By November 2024, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism had welcomed over 10 million visitors, a 53.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (exceeding the plan by 12.3%). Total revenue from tourism was estimated at VND 48,902.3 billion, a 61.5% increase compared to the same period (exceeding the plan by 22%).
Of these, the number of international visitors is estimated at over 4.2 million, an increase of 125% compared to the same period last year (exceeding the plan by 41%); domestic visitors are estimated at 5.9 million, an increase of 25.3% compared to the same period last year (reaching 98% of the plan).
Khanh Hoa province has also strongly developed its tourism infrastructure, following a trend of in-depth and large-scale investment. To date, the province has 1,189 accommodation establishments with 66,000 rooms. Of these, 4-5 star hotel rooms account for up to 40%.
