According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, in August 2024, the total number of tourists served by accommodation establishments was estimated at over 1.3 million, an increase of 33.1% compared to the same period in 2023. Of these, approximately 416,000 were international tourists and over 915,000 were domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism was estimated at 6,322.9 billion VND.
To meet this demand, the tourist transportation market is also heating up day by day. Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) announced that it will increase the number of passenger trains and offer preferential policies for passengers buying tickets for the September 2nd holiday. Specifically, during the National Day holiday on September 2nd (from August 29th to September 3rd), passengers buying round-trip train tickets will receive a 5% discount on the return ticket price for individuals and a 7% discount for groups of 20 or more people.
In contrast to train fares, airfares tend to increase during holidays. According to a report by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Ministry of Transport, Vietnamese airlines will operate a total of 4,257 flights from August 30th to September 3rd, averaging 840 flights per day, a 3% increase compared to the week before the holiday and a 3.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Of these, the average number of domestic flights is 600 per day, a 5% increase compared to the week before the holiday and a 2.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The average number of international flights is 241 per day, a 2% decrease compared to the week before the holiday and a 5.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
