Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) announced that it will increase the number of passenger trains and have preferential policies for passengers buying tickets for the September 2 holiday. Specifically, on the occasion of National Day September 2 (from August 29 to September 3), passengers who buy round-trip train tickets will receive a 5% discount on the return ticket price for individuals and a 7% discount on the return ticket price for groups of 20 people or more.
In contrast to train fares, airfares tend to increase during the holidays. According to a report by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Ministry of Transport, Vietnamese airlines will operate a total of 4,257 flights from August 30 to September 3, an average of 840 flights/day, an increase of 3% compared to the previous week and an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period in 2023. Of which, the average number of domestic flights is 600 flights/day, an increase of 5% compared to the previous week and an increase of 2.8% compared to the same period in 2023. The average number of international flights is 241 flights/day, a decrease of 2% compared to the previous week and an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period in 2023.
