At the regular press conference on April 7, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated: “As we answered at the previous press conference, Vietnam has now reached mutual recognition agreements on vaccine passports with 19 countries, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, the Philippines, Palestine, Maldives, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Turkey, Singapore, and a few more countries such as Saint Lucia, South Korea, Iran, and Malaysia.”
We would also like to inform our reporters that recently, on April 4th, the Ministry of Health issued a detailed announcement regarding the process for issuing Vietnam's vaccine passports, and it is expected that these passports will be issued to citizens on April 15th.
Individuals holding vaccination passports from these countries entering Vietnam, and Vietnamese citizens traveling to these countries, are subject to the same health measures as those who have been vaccinated locally. This recognition includes exemption from consular certification/legalization procedures when using these documents in the receiving country.

Vietnam's vaccine passport contains 11 pieces of information about the carrier, the quantity and type of vaccine administered, along with the certificate number. This information will be digitally signed, encoded, and packaged as a 2D QR code. The QR code on the vaccine passport will expire 12 months from the date of issuance.
