On the morning of November 20th, Hoi An city welcomed the first two groups of international tourists to Quang Nam province.
At noon on November 20th, 204 South Korean tourists arrived at Phu Quoc International Airport from Seoul, beginning their vacation in the island city as part of a 4-day, 3-night closed-loop tour.

These pilot flights are the first step in reopening our doors to tourism, telling friends around the world that we are ready. Among those on these flights were people visiting Vietnam for the first time, and others who had returned many times. Whether driven by curiosity or nostalgia, they all shared one thing in common: an eagerness to explore the beauty of this land after nearly two years of closure due to the pandemic.
A year ago, British professional photographer and filmmaker Jay Kyren began a journey across Vietnam, documenting the country and its people in each place he visited.
"Vietnam is a land of contrasts, full of challenges, with an admirable history, a land of hidden beauties," he said.

Jay Kyren has traveled to most of the country's tourist destinations, from Hanoi and Ha Long Bay to Hoi An and Hue… Carrying a backpack full of filming equipment, he found beauty in the simplest things: a lion dance, the rush hour in Hanoi, a young buffalo herder, street vendors, green hills covered in clouds, flickering candlelight on the river…
