After a long period of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Hue Imperial City and some Nguyen Dynasty tombs reopened to welcome tourists from October 1.

On September 30, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said that the Imperial Citadel and the tombs of King Minh Mang, Tu Duc, and Khai Dinh will reopen, but tourists will only be able to visit the outdoor areas, not the interiors of the palaces.

Visitors to the relic site must wear masks, disinfect, keep their distance, avoid gatherings, declare their health status, and scan the QR code. Visitors from other provinces coming to Hue must complete medical monitoring according to regulations, in which those coming from epidemic areas must have two doses of vaccine and self-isolate for a week.

The leader of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien-Hue province said that currently, 1/4 of the province's tour guides (equivalent to 200 people) have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and this number will increase in the coming time to proactively catch up with the trend of opening the domestic tourism market.
