The expansion of Hue City is an important first step in the process of concretizing the goal of building Thua Thien-Hue into a centrally-governed city by 2025, based on preserving and promoting the heritage values ​​of the ancient capital and the cultural identity of Hue.

According to Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, Standing Committee Member of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, "Hue aims to be a creative, prosperous, peaceful, developed, and happy city, the central 'nucleus' of a heritage, cultural, and ecologically friendly urban landscape. The goal is to develop Hue as a heritage city with the status of aA city of festivals, a center of tourism, and a unique cultural hub of Asia.".

Mr. Phan Thien Dinh also stated that, from July 1st, the city's tourism industry will have more potential and advantages, not only from the Perfume River, Ngu Mountain, and heritage complex, but also from lagoons, estuaries, and the sea... The city will research and implement several projects to exploit these new resources so that Hue will no longer be a "city that sleeps early," but a livable city.

Currently, there are several high-end resort areas and Thuan An port that help connect the central city of Hue to the East Sea, promoting the development of marine ecotourism, port industry, shipbuilding and repair, fishing, aquaculture and lagoon economy.

The city is also considering the planning and development of this area to attract domestic and foreign investors to create new, unique, and attractive tourism products, such as Thuan An port, which will not only be a cargo port but also a yacht port...

Mr. Phan Thien Dinh stated that this policy responds to the aspirations and wishes of the people, and is an opportunity for Hue to make further breakthroughs. However, there are also many challenges and difficulties, both in the short and long term.
