On the morning of August 14, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Da Nang City officially announced the suspension of all activities in Da Nang City for 7 days to focus on preventing the Covid-19 epidemic. This decision was issued by the city's leaders when the epidemic situation in recent days has not been controlled, both in terms of the number of new infections and the number of infections detected in the community.
Accordingly, from 8:00 a.m. on August 16 to 8:00 a.m. on August 23, people will follow the principle of "stay where you are", not be allowed to leave the house and absolutely isolate from house to house.

Agencies, offices, and units must minimize the number of people working at headquarters, only assigning people to do really necessary work (except for forces on duty to prevent and fight the epidemic). Manufacturing enterprises in industrial parks and high-tech zones are allowed to operate and can only maintain a maximum of 30% of the number of employees at the unit. All agencies, units, and enterprises must ensure the organization of "3 on-site" (work on-site - eat on-site - rest on-site).

During the 7 days of applying the above measures, the Da Nang Department of Health will implement a plan to collect samples for testing with the goal of "covering the entire city to find and quickly remove Covid-19 infected patients from the community".
The city government has asked people not to gather in large numbers to shop and stockpile too much, as this could easily spread the disease to themselves and the community. Applying stronger measures to prevent the disease will have a significant impact on the lives of people in the city.
Since July 10, Da Nang has recorded 1,609 Covid-19 cases. The city has applied a higher level of social distancing than Directive 16 from 6 p.m. on July 31.
