On the morning of August 14th, the Da Nang City Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control officially announced the temporary suspension of all activities in Da Nang City for 7 days to focus on preventing the spread of Covid-19. This decision was issued by city leaders as the epidemic situation in recent days has not been brought under control, both in terms of the number of new infections and the number of infections detected in the community.
Accordingly, from 8:00 AM on August 16th to 8:00 AM on August 23rd, people must adhere to the principle of "stay where you are," are not allowed to leave their homes, and strictly isolate themselves from one another.

Government agencies, offices, and units should minimize the number of people working at their headquarters, only assigning personnel to perform essential tasks (excluding forces involved in epidemic prevention and control). Manufacturing businesses in industrial parks and high-tech zones are allowed to operate, but must maintain a maximum of 30% of their workforce. All agencies, units, and businesses must ensure the "three on-site" system (working on-site, eating on-site, and resting on-site).

During the 7-day period of implementing the above measures, the Da Nang Department of Health will carry out a testing plan with the goal of "achieving city-wide coverage to find and quickly remove Covid-19 infected patients from the community."
The city authorities are urging residents to avoid large gatherings for excessive stockpiling, as this could easily spread the disease to themselves and the community. The implementation of stronger measures to contain the epidemic will significantly impact the lives of city residents.
From July 10th to the present, Da Nang has recorded 1,609 cases of Covid-19. The city implemented stricter social distancing measures than Directive 16 from 6 PM on July 31st.
