On December 20th, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health issued the template and procedures for issuing vaccine passports. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese people to travel abroad, especially to Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Representatives from Singapore hope that tourism between the two countries can be connected in the early months of 2022.
Singapore will implement policies to support local brands and enhance the local character of products to attract Vietnamese tourists' shopping preferences when international flights resume.
"We are currently working with Vietnamese travel companies to update the situation and hold discussions at the government level, understanding the changes aimed at promoting the resumption of tourism between the two countries," said Sherleen SEAH, Chief Representative of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Vietnam.

Singapore has now opened international travel through a travel corridor for certain countries that have been fully vaccinated. Travelers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to travel between the two countries without lengthy quarantine. They only need to be tested for Covid-19 to ensure they are not infected.
In the near future, the island nation aims to open up to more international markets in Europe and North America in 2022, following the launch of its SingapoReimagine campaign in early 2021.
Accordingly, a survey on travel preferences conducted by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Vietnam in early 2021 showed that Vietnamese tourists are interested in and consider Singapore as an exciting destination that meets their new shopping and travel desires and needs.
The Ministry of Health has released the sample Covid-19 vaccine passport:
Vietnam's vaccine passport will contain 11 pieces of information, including: Full name; date of birth; nationality; name of the disease targeted by the certificate; number of doses; date of vaccination; dose number; vaccine; vaccine product; vaccine supplier or manufacturer; and certificate number.
This information will be digitally signed, encoded, and packaged as a 2D QR code. The QR code on the vaccine passport will expire 12 months after its creation date.
