On December 20, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health issued a form and procedure for issuing vaccine passports. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese people to travel abroad, especially to Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Singaporean representatives hope that tourism between the two countries can soon be connected in the first months of 2022.
The Lion Island will have a policy to support local brands, increasing the locality of products to attract shopping tastes from Vietnamese tourists when international flights reopen.
"We are currently working with Vietnamese travel companies to update the situation as well as have discussions at the government level, grasping changes to promote the re-connection of tourism between the two countries," said Ms. Sherleen SEAH, Chief Representative of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Vietnam.

Singapore has now opened international travel via a travel corridor for some vaccinated countries. Travelers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to travel between the two countries without having to quarantine for a long time. They will only need to undergo a Covid-19 test to ensure they are free of the disease.
In the near future, the island nation aims to open up to many international markets in Europe and North America in 2022 since launching the SingapoReimagine campaign in early 2021.
Accordingly, a survey on tourism interest conducted by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Vietnam in early 2021 showed that Vietnamese tourists are interested in and think of Singapore as an interesting destination, meeting their new shopping and travel desires and needs.
