Vietnam recognizes vaccine passports from 72 countries and territories

At a regular press conference on the afternoon of October 21, Vietnam announced the temporary recognition of vaccine passports from 72 countries and territories, and is discussing this issue with nearly 80 other partners.

"Vietnam is temporarily recognizing the vaccination certificate model, also known as vaccine passport, of 72 countries and territories that have been introduced by representatives of the parties to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

People with vaccine passports arriving in Vietnam will have their quarantine period reduced to seven days under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. In addition, Vietnam will also accept vaccines licensed for use by the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently discussing with nearly 80 partners about recognizing each other's vaccine certificates. Vietnam's vaccination certificates have also been recognized by a number of countries and can be used to enter these countries," the Foreign Ministry spokesman added.
