A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "Vietnam is temporarily recognizing the vaccination certificate mẫu, also known as the vaccine passport, of 72 countries and territories that have been presented to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by their representatives."
The list of 72 countries and territories whose vaccine passports are recognized by Vietnam has been updated on the electronic portal for consular affairs of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This list includes countries such as the United States, France, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Japan, and China, among others.
Individuals with a vaccine passport entering Vietnam will have their mandatory quarantine period reduced to 7 days, as per the Ministry of Health's guidelines. Additionally, Vietnam will accept vaccines authorized for use by the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), or the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is simultaneously in discussions with nearly 80 partners regarding the mutual recognition of vaccine certificates. Vietnamese vaccination certificates have also been recognized by several countries and can be used for entry into these countries," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson added.

"Vaccine passports" are a solution being adopted by many countries around the world to reopen and bring socio-economic activities back to a new normal. Earlier in September, the Government Office issued a directive from the Prime Minister regarding the recognition of "vaccine passports."
