In the context of the world gradually reopening, Vietnam has also received positive signals in the recovery of the tourism industry, especially recently, when the name Vietnam appeared on the list of countries with relaxed entry restrictions to the UK, Thailand and Laos.

UK accepts Vietnam's "vaccine passport"

On October 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the UK to recognize Covid-19 vaccination certificates issued by Vietnam during a phone call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. As expected, Vietnam has become one of the countries on the list of countries recognized by the UK for vaccine passports.

According to the UK government, people with proof of two doses of the vaccine must be tested for Covid-19 within two days of entering the country and will only be quarantined if the result is positive. The vaccines approved by the UK include: AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Janssen by Johnson & Johnson. Versions of some of these vaccines will also be approved, such as Covishield - produced by AstraZeneca in India or Moderna Takeda of Japan.

The UK now allows the mixing of two vaccines, as long as they are on the list above, and also accepts two doses given in two different places. People who have recovered from Covid-19 do not count as fully vaccinated.

The information on the vaccination certificate can be in English, Spanish or French and is issued by a state health authority. The minimum information required includes: full name, date of birth, type of vaccine administered and manufacturer, date of first and second doses, and country/territory that issued the vaccination certificate.

Vietnam is allowed to enter Thailand without quarantine.

According to Thailand's reopening program, starting November 1, the country will allow fully vaccinated visitors from 63 countries/territories, including Vietnam, to enter the country without having to undergo medical quarantine. Visitors from the 63 countries must have a certificate of two doses of Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before entering the country, and have a negative PCR test result for Covid-19 within 72 hours before arriving in Thailand.

In addition, visitors must also have health insurance with a coverage limit of at least 50,000 USD (more than 1 billion VND), have a confirmed hotel reservation in Thailand, be tested for Covid-19 using the PCR method within 24 hours of arriving in Thailand and have a negative test result before being allowed to travel in Thailand.
