The product names are not attractive enough and have been proven in practice such as: Bai Tho Night Walking Street, Hai Thinh Lake, Nhat Vuong Farm, Fruit garden experience in Viet Dan commune of Dong Trieu town, "Bach Dang Imprint" tour...
Among them, Bai Tho Night Walking Street, Ha Long City was only bustling for the first few sessions and then died down - because there were no special products or services. When Ha Long City invested in building Bai Tho Night Walking Street, many opinions suggested that this product could only "survive" if it simultaneously opened the service "Bai Tho Mountain Climbing Experience".
The most popular product among tourists is “Listening to music on Ha Long Bay” because of its novelty, uniqueness, professional investment, and high-class service quality. This is one of the very few tourism products implemented by the private sector, while most of the 38 registered products are implemented by state agencies.
Why is that?
The product “Sailing race on Ha Long Bay” is a typical example. After the arduous journey of applying for procedures, up to this point, Mr. Le Tien Dung - Chairman of Tuan Chau Port Sailing Club - can only shake his head and does not want to talk about the club's ambitious project.
More than 2 years ago, he and his friends established a club and invited many people from within and outside the country to join. With more than 10 modern sailboats, Mr. Dung hopes to create a new, classy tourism product on Ha Long Bay, and will also invite international sailing clubs to exchange and learn.
After completing the project, he had to run to ask for opinions from all relevant agencies and units. However, after revising and adding comments and submitting it again, he was asked to continue revising and adding...
Meanwhile, as soon as Ha Long City announced the detailed planning of the product "Bai Tho Mountain Climbing Experience", everyone thought that in 2023, tourists and residents would definitely be able to climb the mountain.
However, when presented to the superiors, they were informed that because Bai Tho Mountain is a National Monument, the investment must be carried out by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee. Therefore, Ha Long withdrew, and the plan to open a special tourism product fell into a deadlock.
Of the 38 registered products, Van Don district has 6 new tourism products, of which 3 are related to Bai Tu Long Bay, Bai Tu Long National Park and are expected to start serving tourists from June 2023. However, after completing the project, the answer was... that we have to wait for the new planning for Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long.
According to Mr. Doan Van Dung - Vice President of Quang Ninh Tourism Association, with the current way of doing things, it will take a lot of time, even effort, to create a product without results. "There should be a focal agency to help businesses complete the procedures, but businesses have to run everywhere. Therefore, opening tourism products should be assigned to individuals and businesses because only they understand what customers want and because they have to spend their own money, they will have to build quality products. State agencies should only guide and support businesses" - Mr. Doan Van Dung said.
