From the heart of the city to the land of history
In the morning, when the city just wakes up, the speedboat picks up passengers at Bach Dang Wharf. From here, the boat weaves through the green patches along the river, crossing Saigon Bridge, Thu Thiem, Binh Trieu. On both banks are old houses interspersed with modern buildings - separate slices of the riverside urban area.
The journey starts from Bach Dang wharf, Ho Chi Minh City
The journey of more than an hour and a half takes visitors to Cu Chi. Amidst the green space, the tunnels appear as an intact part of history. Stepping down into the tunnel, the damp and dark feeling makes people imagine the lives of soldiers in the past. The tunnels, fighting pits, Hoang Cam kitchen, and resting areas have been restored, allowing visitors to see with their own eyes the living and fighting system of the army and civilians at that time.
This is both a trip back to the past and a journey to touch a living heritage - where history is written by the sacrifices of previous generations - ordinary but indomitable and resilient people.
A corner of the Cu Chi tunnel space and tunnel system is recreated by the model.
After leaving the relic site, the ship sailed towards Binh Duong. The scenery gradually changed: from the red soil of Cu Chi to the green of tree rows, fruit gardens and small hamlets along the river.
A peaceful afternoon in the middle of the river
The canoe docked at the riverside eco-tourism area in Binh Duong. Here, the air was fresh and quiet, with thatched roofs looming among the gardens. Visitors rested and had lunch with rustic southern dishes such as braised fish in a clay pot, sour lotus soup, boiled vegetables with kho quet sauce, etc., cooked from local ingredients.
After the meal, visitors can visit the nearby craft village where people still make wooden clogs, ceramics and handicrafts. The sound of saws and pottery hammering mixed with the smell of wood and baked clay create a slow, intimate pace of life. Each product here bears the appearance of river life, simple but durable.
As the afternoon wore on, the boat returned to the main stream, passing by a few small temples and shrines along the river. The temple bells echoed in the wind, the water reflected the pale sunset. It was a moment of silence, just watching the river flow by, as if listening to the city tell its story.

Sai Gon River Star's canoe offers visitors a journey down the history and culture of the suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City.
From Vam Sat to Thanh An - new routes on the river
In the future, Sai Gon River Star's new tour opens up another slice of the city, where nature and human life blend together in tranquility. Vam Sat is located in the middle of the Can Gio biosphere reserve, covered by mangrove forests and a rich ecosystem. The space here seems completely separate from the city, with only the sound of wind blowing through the treetops, birdsong and the sound of water lapping at the shore. Visitors can take a boat through the deep blue canals, watch flocks of birds fly across the sky, or stop to enjoy a rustic lunch by the river.
From Vam Sat, the journey continues to Thanh An island commune - the land considered the end of Saigon before the river flows into the sea. Life here still retains its rustic features with fishing, salt making, oyster farming and stone-paved roads running along the edge of the sea. There are not many tourist services, but it is this simplicity that makes Thanh An special. Walking down the wooden bridge, listening to the waves underfoot and looking at the small houses nestled among the coconut trees, visitors can clearly feel a peaceful, sincere and vibrant Saigon.

The journey to explore Vam Sat - Thanh An island will soon be exploited, bringing tourists to the final destination of Ho Chi Minh City.
When the river becomes the center of the journey
With such excursions, Sai Gon River Star not only opens up new routes, but also opens up new perspectives, where the river leads people from the past of the Cu Chi war zone to the peaceful present of a small fishing village, all located in the heart of the city called Saigon.
These journeys are carried out by Sai Gon River Star, a river tourism brand developed from the foundation of Huong Hai Ha Long - a unit with many years of experience in exploiting waterway tours in Vietnam. After making its mark in Ha Long Bay, Huong Hai brings its operational experience, safety standards and philosophy of "respecting nature - preserving culture" to the South, continuing to write its journey on the Saigon River with nature-friendly trips, encouraging tourists to experience and feel, not just look.
