The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and related departments of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces about organizing the exploitation of a long-distance waterway tourist transport route from Ho Chi Minh City to these two localities. Accordingly, the high-speed boat route transports tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to Tien Giang province, a distance of about 110 km, to Ben Tre province, a distance of about 120 km and vice versa.
The ship has a route from Bach Dang wharf (District 1) or Saigon port, Nha Rong (District 4) following Saigon river - Nha Be river - Soai Rap river - Vam Co river (or following the direction of Nuoc Man canal - Can Giuoc river) - Cho Gao canal - Tien river... to ports, inland waterway wharves in Tien Giang province, Ben Tre province and vice versa.
In July 2022, from Ho Chi Minh City, you can go to Tien Giang and Ben Tre by high-speed boat.
Two long-distance waterway tourist transport routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces and vice versa are expected to be operated from July 2022.
The expected operators are Saigon Tourist Co., Ltd., DP Green Technology Co., Ltd., and Thuong Nhat Co., Ltd. Each unit will operate 2 ships, each with a capacity of 75 to 151 passengers. It is expected that there will be 3 operators with about 6 ships, operating hours are 6am - 6pm daily. Regarding fares, the units will agree to ensure stable actual prices and attract passengers.
Based on actual surveys, connecting tourist areas, tourism products, ports and proposals from provincial authorities, the operating unit will supplement and complete the route itinerary and operating time to suit the needs of serving tourists.
In addition to the two routes mentioned above, the City Department of Transport has also just proposed that the City People's Committee send a document to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to support and coordinate to soon put into operation a waterway route carrying passengers by high-speed boat from Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao.
