The COVID-19 pandemic is showing a downward trend globally, with many countries and territories gradually easing their containment measures. In Vietnam, the fight against the pandemic has also yielded positive results. The number of cases has been continuously decreasing, and the COVID-19 vaccine coverage rate remains high.
In this context, the Ministry of Health has decided to temporarily suspend the requirement for Covid-19 testing before entering Vietnam from 0:00 on May 15, 2022. This policy aims to facilitate and promote socio-economic recovery and development activities in accordance with the Government's guidelines.
The temporary suspension of Covid-19 testing requirements for those entering Vietnam will contribute to boosting economic recovery.
In addition, the Ministry of Health requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to direct Vietnamese agencies abroad to inform those wishing to enter Vietnam to comply with the required disease prevention and control measures.
In addition, the Ministry of Health directed the Ministry of Transport and the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to continue implementing disease prevention and control measures; regularly inspect, report, and promptly handle any arising issues.
