This information was announced at the Go Mongola - Roadshow, a series of events promoting Mongolian tourism held in Ho Chi Minh City from April 4th to 7th. Munkhnasan Oldokh, Vice President of the Mongolian Tourism Association, stated that the direct flight will shorten travel time from 10-19 hours to just 6 hours, facilitating travel for tourists from both countries.
Ho Chi Minh City is a major tourist center in Vietnam and also a locality with a high number of outbound tourists. Therefore, the launch of the Ulaanbaatar - Ho Chi Minh City flight route is expected to increase the number of tourists between the two countries.
Erdene Ochir Bat Unen, marketing representative of Miat Mongolian Airlines, the national airline of Mongolia, said the airline will announce detailed flight plans in September 2024. The plan anticipates 2-3 flights per week, with a maximum capacity of 640 passengers and fares ranging from $300-400 USD per one-way trip.

Vietnam and Mongolia have officially waived visa requirements for tourists, facilitating tourism exchange between the two countries.
"With direct flights, Vietnamese tourists will have easier access to Mongolia. Travel companies can also adjust itineraries, create suitable tours, and offer more competitive prices," Mr. Vu shared.
From March 7, 2024, Vietnam and Mongolia officially waived visa requirements for tourists, facilitating tourism exchanges between the two countries. In 2023, Mongolia welcomed approximately 2,300 Vietnamese tourists. In 2024, the Mongolian government aims to welcome 1 million international visitors and further attract Vietnamese tourists.
