This information was announced at Go Mongola - Roadshow, a series of activities to introduce Mongolian tourism taking place in Ho Chi Minh City from April 4 to 7. Vice President of the Mongolian Tourism Association Munkhnasan Oldokh said the direct flight will help shorten travel time from 10-19 hours to 6 hours, creating favorable conditions for tourists from both countries.
Ho Chi Minh City is a major tourist center of Vietnam and also a locality with a high number of international tourists. Therefore, the operation of the Ulaanbaatar - Ho Chi Minh City flight route is expected to increase the number of tourists between the two countries.
Erdene Ochir Bat Unen, marketing representative of Mongolia’s national airline Miat Mongolian Airlines, said the airline will announce a detailed operation plan in September 2024. It is expected to have 2-3 flights per week, with a maximum capacity of 640 passengers and ticket prices ranging from 300-400 USD each way.

Vietnam and Mongolia officially exempt visas for tourists, creating favorable conditions for tourism exchange between the two countries.
"With direct flights, Vietnamese tourists will have easier access to Mongolia. Travel companies can also adjust itineraries, build suitable tours and offer more competitive prices," Mr. Vu shared.

In 2023, Mongolia welcomed about 2,300 Vietnamese tourists. In 2024, the Mongolian government aims to welcome 1 million international visitors and increase the attraction of Vietnamese tourists.
