The launch ceremony for the new flight route took place at the Japan-Vietnam Economic Forum in Tokyo, witnessed by Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, representatives of the Japanese government, and leaders from various ministries and departments of both countries.
The Hanoi – Osaka route is expected to operate daily round-trip flights with a flight time of over four hours each way using new and modern A320 aircraft. The flight is scheduled to depart from Hanoi at 01:45 and arrive in Osaka at 07:50 (local time). The return flight is scheduled to depart from Osaka at 09:20 (local time) and arrive in Hanoi at 13:10. With the launch of the Hanoi – Osaka route, Vietjet increases its total number of international routes to 45, in addition to its 38 domestic routes.

In the future, Vietjet will continue to open more routes from Vietnam to other major cities in Japan to diversify destinations, meet the travel needs between the two countries, and better connect with the international market.”
Osaka, Japan, is the administrative center of Osaka Prefecture and the third largest city in Japan, with a population of over 2.7 million. It is also a major industrial and port center, the heart of the Kansai metropolitan area, and a city steeped in Japanese culture and culinary traditions. The city is famous for its many attractions and entertainment venues, including Universal Studios, Osaka Castle (Osakajo), Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Minoo Park, and the Minami (Namba) district.
Previously, Vietjet, together with its Japanese partner, had organized several flights from Vietnam to the cities of Osaka, Narita, Sendai, Nagoya, Komatsu, Ibaraki, and Fukushima, and the airline's new services were enthusiastically received by Japanese customers.
At the ceremony, Vietjet and several Japanese financial companies such as SBI Leasing Services and Natixis also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on aircraft financing worth nearly US$600 million.
