The peak of the outbound summer tourism season is predicted to fall in June and July 2024. Many Vietnamese tourists only have short vacation periods, so they prioritize short trips to make the most of their time off.
Besides the trend of short trips, Vietnamese tourists also show clear changes in their experience needs and preferred types of trips during different holidays throughout the year. Specifically, during the summer, tourists prefer outdoor experiences connected with nature (36.4% of tourists chose this as their favorite experience). Tourists are interested in cultural experiences, cuisine, and shopping (32.2% of tourists chose cultural experiences as their favorite).

However, changes in the travel behavior of Vietnamese tourists require destinations and businesses to adopt a more multifaceted approach based on a deep understanding of travelers.
