1. Bronte Baths


Bronte Baths is located at the southern end of Bronte Beach and is Sydney’s oldest saltwater swimming pool. It attracts everyone from toddlers to strong swimmers to ladies in floral bathing caps. You can laze on the rocks, warm yourself like a lizard before diving into the pool, or take in one of Sydney’s most photographed beaches. Unlike other saltwater pools in Sydney, this one is open to visitors free of charge.
2. Merewether Ocean Baths

The history of Merewether Ocean Baths is quite interesting. It was built by unemployed workers who were suffering from mild depression. It is said to be the largest saltwater swimming pool in the Southern Hemisphere.
3. Mcivers Baths

Located between Coogee Beach and Wylie's Baths is the stunning Mcivers Baths. Opened in 1922, it is the only women-only swimming pool in Australia.
4. Blue Pool Bermagui


On the beautiful South Coast, also known as the Sapphire Coast, you will find the famous Blue Pool. Set at the bottom of a dramatic rock face, this natural tidal pool is a beautiful spot for swimming, snorkeling and canoeing. In the 1940s, it was improved and expanded by locals, and has now doubled in size.
5. Ross Jones Memorial Pool


Ross Jones Memorial Pool was built in 1947 and is located at the southern end of Coogee Beach. Two adjacent rectangular pools boast a unique design that juts out from the curved rock face. It is timeless and one of Australia’s most beautiful saltwater pools.
6. Bogey Hole


Bogey Hole in Newcastle, also known as the Officers' Pool. Bogey Hole is the oldest surviving European structure in the area. In 1819, an officer directed prisoners to build this pool for their own use. It was created on a sandstone base with a fence of stakes and chains.
7. Bondi Icebergs


Bondi Icebergs is a 50m long saltwater pool, divided into several lanes, located in the south of Bondi Beach, Sydney. The water in the pool is directly fed from the sea. Sometimes, large waves can hit the walls and overflow into the pool. This pool includes a small beach, a bar and a children's pool. Visitors can swim while admiring the beautiful view of the ocean horizon here.The water in this swimming pool is always colder than sea water, usually ranging from 15-21 degrees Celsius.
8. Mahon Pool

Mahon Pool is surrounded by natural rock, rugged, beautiful and with very little human intervention. It is located on the north side of Maroubra Beach. It is most enjoyable to dive in when the water is high and the wind is strong.
9. Wylies Baths

Just south of Mcivers Baths, Wylies Baths was built in 1907 by Harry Alexander Wylie. Like Bondi Icebergs, Wylies has everything from yoga classes to massage services. It’s a great stop on the Bondi Beach walk.
10. Bilgola Rockpool

Bilgola Beach Pool is carved out of a steep coastal valley floor. It is one of the most secluded spots on the north coast. It is reached by a winding walk from Newport Beach through tea plantations, casuarinas and palm trees. With spectacular views from the 60m height of Bilgola North Headland, you will see a 50m long, eight-lane road-width rock formation at the southern end of the beach.
