Over 200 hotels nationwide have been selected as paid quarantine locations.

Paid quarantine facilities are present in major cities and are hotspots during the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Given the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the General Department of Tourism announced that as of July 30th, 25 localities with 207 accommodation establishments had registered to provide paid quarantine services. Accordingly, 18,486 rooms and 23,248 beds meeting all quarantine standards have been allocated to hotspots of the second wave of the outbreak.

Specifically, Da Nang has 41 tourist accommodation establishments that meet the requirements for serving as quarantine facilities, with 8,340 beds. Three 3-star establishments with 340 beds are currently being rented as centralized quarantine locations; eight establishments with 559 beds are also in operation.

Hanoi has 6 qualified facilities with 764 beds, including 5 facilities for accommodating experts, with prices ranging from 1.2 million to 5.1 million VND per room.

Ho Chi Minh City has 9 tourist accommodation facilities with 841 beds that meet the criteria to serve as paid quarantine locations. Of these, 8 facilities with 641 beds in Districts 1, 4, 5, 7, Tan Binh, and Can Gio District charge from 300,000 VND per room, depending on the facility. One facility with 200 beds participates by lending its space to be used as a centralized quarantine location.

These paid quarantine facilities operate through the coordination of various departments and agencies, most importantly the Department of Tourism and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the provinces and cities. If any Vietnamese citizen needs to be quarantined at these paid hotels, they can submit an application to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for consideration and resolution.

Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested 25 localities to review and update the list of registered tourist accommodation establishments to serve as quarantine facilities for COVID-19 prevention and control, and send it to the Hotel Department before July 25th. The 25 localities include Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Can Tho, and Kien Giang.
