Hundreds of years ago, the small houses in Juzkar, near Malaga in the autonomous region of Andalusia in Spain, were whitewashed. Consequently, the village was unremarkable, with only about 220 inhabitants spread across an area of 33 square kilometers.

Previously, only a few hundred tourists visited this place, but now it is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Spain. This is thanks to the amazing renovations the city underwent in 2011.
In fact, just two years ago, the villagers of Juzkar were living normal lives, but now they even make a living from tourism after Sony Pictures producers arrived there.
In 2011, the producers began searching for a village in Andalusia. Any white house was repainted blue, and that choice resulted in this stunning location.
Initially, the villagers were skeptical, but marketing experts convinced them that the makeover was solely for advertising the premiere of the 3D movie "The Smurfs" and that it would make the village stand out from the rest.
In 2011, after obtaining the villagers' consent, the filmmakers promised to restore the houses to their original colors upon completion of the project.
Soon after, the white houses were transformed into simple yet striking blue houses. Over 15,000 liters of blue paint were used to cover the village in blue, and Juzkar village also acquired its special name – the Smurf Village, as it is known today.
Let's admire this impressive village through the following stunning photos.
