The announcement ceremony took place at 11:30 a.m. on October 31 (local time) in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
According to the plan, Bamboo Airways will operate regular direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to London and vice versa from the end of 2021, upon approval from the governments of the two countries. The initial total frequency is expected to be 6 round trips/week with 2 routes and will fly regularly from 2022.
Bamboo Airways announced a direct flight from Vietnam to the UK and launched its General Agent in the UK under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Flights from Vietnam to the UK are operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft, expected to pick up and drop off passengers at Terminal 2 of Heathrow Airport (London) - one of the top 10 airports in the world. This direct flight will help shorten the travel time between Vietnam and the UK to just over 12-13 hours, saving up to 7 hours compared to transit flights.

Also at the event, Bamboo Airways launched APG UK - the General Agent representing the airline in the UK market. APG UK is part of the global APG network - a prestigious provider of aviation and tourism solutions in the world, a partner of more than 200 airlines, with more than 111 offices worldwide and covering 170 markets. APG UK will support Bamboo Airways in outreach activities, customer care as well as flight operations in the UK market.
