This year, upon entering the main lobby, guests will encounter “Waves of Vietnamese Soul,” an artwork created through a collaboration between the resort and a young Vietnamese artist. Inspired by the resort's striking architectural features and Vietnamese Dong Ho folk paintings, “Waves of Vietnamese Soul” recreates memories and culture through contemporary brushstrokes: images of swallows, pear blossoms, the vibrant rhythm of the Lion Dance, the Boy Riding a Carp enhancing the InterContinental logo, the undulating lines of the sandy shore… like a subtle dialogue between culture and space, bridging the past with the present, the blue sea with the high sky, and previous generations guiding those who follow.
Following this is the resounding sound of war drums, vibrant colors swaying to the rhythm of the lion dance, graceful, skillful yet powerful, spreading positive energy and wishes for prosperity. Then the rhythm subsides, giving way to the quiet and meaningful beauty of Tet: auspicious characters meticulously written with a brush on red paper, conveying wishes for peace and well-being in the new year. Alongside these are handcrafted clay figurines, skillfully shaped by hand, evoking innocent joy and simple memories of Tet of yesteryear.
As the last rays of sunlight fade, the Lunar New Year atmosphere on Phu Quoc Island gradually transforms, harmonizing with moments of togetherness. At Pearl Lounge, guests gather around a spring afternoon tea set, where laughter and intimate conversations intertwine against the backdrop of an elegant sunset.
