Launched as a trial in May 2026, the Capri by Fraser hotel in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, features 248 rooms divided into seven distinct room categories, ranging from Studio to One-Bedroom Residence.
Unlike conventional accommodations, each apartment here is designed as a miniature ecosystem. An integrated IPTV system with Google Cast, combined with digital assistance services, allows guests to have complete control over their personal space.
The hotel eliminates logistical barriers by equipping rooms with drip-coffee machines and a direct water filtration system in rooms as well as water filtration stations throughout the property, demonstrating sophistication in health care and commitment to the environment.
Residence apartments, with their compact kitchens and separate living areas, perfectly meet the needs of "digital nomads" and modern families.
Furthermore, Capri by Fraser's "Social Living" philosophy is realized through the way its functional areas operate as "social connection stations".
"The Den" is not just a reception area, but the heart of all social activities. In particular, the "Spin & Play" concept is a strategic breakthrough in operations, combining a game room with a self-service laundry area. Here, mundane daily tasks are transformed into opportunities for community interaction.
Instead of operating its own food and beverage outlets in a conventional way, the hotel has established strategic partnerships with renowned local brands. The presence of Palm House Restaurant and Bar, along with a Grab & Go counter operated by the Norm team (the unit behind Norm Micro Roastery, Norm Café, Noct cocktail bar, and Peninsula House), has transformed the hotel into a true cultural hub in George Town.
The wellness and green mobility amenities at Capri by Fraser encompass an entire ecosystem including a covered swimming pool, Jacuzzi, yoga room, and notably, three electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, demonstrating the brand's keen awareness of sustainable travel trends.

According to Chew Hang Song, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Frasers Hospitality, the hotel, located at 31 Jalan Magazine – a prime location near the UNESCO World Heritage site – not only provides accommodation but is also set to be a social hub where guests can absorb the local energy of George Town.
A key highlight of this project is the involvement of architect Lian Kian Lek – the mastermind behind the George Town Festival 2024 – as a "Cultural Interpreter." The sophistication of a brand consultant lies in recognizing how art can be used to define a destination. The art collection by six commissioned artists at Capri by Fraser, Penang, is not merely decorative but a journey through the island's cultural layers.
Spanning from the reception lobby to the 15 floors of guest rooms, the artworks guide visitors from the vibrant energy of the city to the profound stories of craftsmanship and community. The migratory bird imagery – the soul of the "Capri by Fraser Takes Flight" campaign (a large-scale campaign spanning Southeast Asia to Australia) – is integrated as a symbol of borderless connection and the brand's aspiration to explore new horizons.
