Early morning is the golden hour for young people to freely take photos amidst the brightly colored stalls. Although quite crowded, the morning space is much more airy than the congestion of the evening. A highlight is the sight of many young people wearing traditional ao dai and ao yem (traditional Vietnamese dresses), capturing images that are both modern and nostalgic.
Hang Ma Street (Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi) is filled with vibrant colors as thousands of traditional lanterns hang along the street.
Young people can freely choose their favorite spot for taking photos without having to jostle with crowds of people.

The bustling atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival has transformed Hang Ma Street into a vibrant blend of tradition and modernity. The natural morning light is a powerful aid, highlighting the colors of star-shaped lanterns, carp-shaped lanterns, papier-mâché masks, and the intricate patterns on each handcrafted product. Every street corner and every stall becomes an ideal backdrop for photographs, with natural light and realistic, vivid colors.
Traditional papier-mâché masks in the shape of the clown Teu and lion heads have been updated with many eye-catching colors.

Early morning is also an ideal time for tourists to comfortably explore, stroll around, and capture beautiful moments. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the evening, the lively atmosphere of the morning has its own unique charm. It's filled with cheerful laughter and chatter, hurried footsteps searching for the perfect photo spot, and sparkling, eager eyes. Many families also choose this time to bring their children to play and enjoy the vibrant yet relaxed festive atmosphere.
A group of young children were very excited to hold their pretty little lanterns and happily explore the space filled with brightly colored products. Ms. Minh Thuy, a teacher at the American School preschool, shared: “The school organized this trip so the children could both visit and immerse themselves in the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere. Even though they are young, the children were very excited to hold the lanterns, observe the vibrant colors, and participate in games with their friends.”
