On the morning of February 11th, the Huong Son Scenic Area Management Board began selling tickets to visitors, nearly a week earlier than the time permitted by the Hanoi People's Committee. This was due to thousands of people from various localities flocking to Huong Pagoda (My Duc District, Hanoi) to celebrate the Lunar New Year and worship Buddha immediately after hearing the news that the site was about to reopen.
Explaining the early ticket sales, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hien, Head of the Huong Son Scenic Area Management Board, said: "It's not that the local authorities are selling tickets early before the opening day. As soon as people heard that Huong Pagoda was about to reopen, tourists flocked here. Our operation of the ticket control station is part of the system's trial run. We don't want any group of visitors to come to Huong Pagoda to have to turn back disappointed, so selling tickets to visitors at this time is a flexible adaptation."

The prevention and control of Covid-19 here is carried out meticulously, including 8 Covid-19 checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the Huong Son scenic area, and 2 mobile medical stations have been established at the Huong Son commune health station and the Ben Cho area (ticket checkpoint). As soon as tourists are found to have symptoms such as cough, fever, or other suspected Covid-19 symptoms, they will be promptly taken to isolation and treated according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, the Huong Son Scenic Area Management Board also advises tourists who have not received both doses of the vaccine not to visit the site to ensure their own health and the health of the community.
Entrance fees to the historical site remain the same as in previous years: 80,000 VND for the scenic area, 50,000 VND per person for the boat, and 180,000 VND per person for the cable car. Photo: Huong Son Scenic Area Management Board
Previously, the Hanoi People's Committee had issued a document agreeing to allow the My Duc district authorities to open the Huong Pagoda to visitors and organize the festival on February 16th. However, the district will not hold the opening ceremony but will only allow visitors to come in to sightsee and worship Buddha.
