With the desire to bring readers many unique spiritual values through meaningful and practical activities related to books, the 5th Vietnam Book Day in Ho Chi Minh City was organized with the theme "Joining hands to spread the love for books".

As usual, this year's Book Day continues to carry the mission of honoring the value of books, affirming the role, position, and importance of books in social life; honoring those who work in collecting, writing, publishing, printing, distributing, preserving, and promoting books; encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community; raising public awareness of the great significance and importance of reading for acquiring knowledge, skills, developing thinking, education, and character building; and enhancing the responsibility of all levels, sectors, functional agencies, and social organizations towards building and developing a reading culture in Vietnam.

Continuing to build upon the success of previous Vietnam Book Day events, the 5th Vietnam Book Day in Ho Chi Minh City will create a healthy, practical, and beneficial cultural space for a wide range of readers, fostering a stronger connection between books and readers, and contributing to the development of a learning society.

Vietnam Book Day also serves as a cultural highlight for publishing and book distribution units nationwide, providing a venue for meetings and exchanges between publishing and book distribution units and readers; creating an environment for exchange, cooperation, and development in the field of book publishing and distribution.

Mobilizing community participation and all social resources in investing in the development of reading culture, as well as organizing activities to celebrate the 5th Vietnam Book Day in Ho Chi Minh City, will help Vietnam Book Day truly become a community festival, a cultural event widely embraced by all segments of the population. It will also encourage and honor individuals and organizations that have contributed to promoting books; bringing books to everyone, from people in remote areas to soldiers serving on the border and islands…
