As part of the "Taste of Australia" week in Vietnam, the "Kangaroo Bun Cha" cooking competition took place on the evening of April 20, 2016, at the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel.

Taste of Australia is a trade promotion program in the food and beverage sector taking place in Vietnam, encompassing a series of activities showcasing Australian products and sharing Australia's sophisticated and modern culinary culture with the Vietnamese market.

The "Kangaroo Bun Cha" event was a culinary competition between four talented chefs from renowned 5-star hotels in Hanoi, including the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, Daewoo Hanoi, Sofitel Plaza, and the Hanoi Cooking Center. With the theme "Kangaroo Bun Cha," the chefs were tasked with preparing traditional Vietnamese bun cha using kangaroo meat. The chefs excelled in the competition, showcasing unique cooking methods, flavors, and presentation.

 

 

 

 

What made the program particularly special were its two distinguished judges: the Australian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, Mr. Hugh Borrowman, and MasterChef Vietnam judge, Mr. Luke Nguyen. Both judges were very impressed with the kangaroo-style bun cha prepared by the four chefs. Hanoi Cooking Center was honored to be the winner of the competition.
