'Kangaroo Bun Cha' Cooking Competition at InterContinental Hanoi Westlake

As part of the “Taste of Australia” week in Vietnam, the “Kangaroo Bun Cha” cooking competition took place on the evening of April 20, 2016 at the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel.

Taste of Australia is a trade promotion program in the food and beverage sector taking place in Vietnam, including a series of activities introducing products from Australia as well as sharing Australia's sophisticated and modern culinary culture to the Vietnamese market.

The event “Bún chả Kangaroo” is a competition between 4 talented chefs from famous 5-star hotels in Hanoi, including InterContinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel, Daewoo Hanoi Hotel, Sofitel Plaza Hotel and Hanoi Cooking Center. With the theme “Bún chả Kangaroo”, the chefs were asked to prepare traditional Vietnamese bun cha using kangaroo meat. The chefs completed the competition with unique preparation, flavor and presentation.

 

 

 

 

What is special is the two special judges of the program: the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Hugh Borrowman, and Master Chef Vietnam judge, Mr. Luke Nguyen. The two judges were very impressed with the kangaroo bun cha version of the 4 chefs. Hanoi Cooking Center was honored to win the competition.
