The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAwards) have just announced the winners of their 16th annual competition. Many of the winning photos come from around the world, offering viewers a wide range of emotions. They all share one thing in common: they were all taken with an iPhone.
Established in 2007, the IPPAwards is an annual online photography competition that selects the best photos taken with iPhones, divided into 16 themes. Each year, the IPPAwards attracts thousands of photos from photographers in over 140 countries.
This year, the winner of the Grand Prize is Ivan Silva from Mexico, who used an iPhone 12 Pro to take the winning photograph titled "Hero".

The winner of the 2023 IPPAWARDS Special Prize is Ivan Silva from Mexico for his "hero" photo taken with an iPhone 12 Pro. The photo shows a boy wearing Lionel Messi's number 10 jersey, standing on the metal bars of a truck bed, with tree roots piled up underneath.
This year's first prize was awarded to German photographer Thea Mihu for her photograph "Soy Sauce Village" taken in Hung Yen (Vietnam) using an iPhone 12 Pro Max. The photograph was taken from above, using repetition techniques to create an amazing effect.
Second prize went to Sasa Borozan from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Borozan's image, Taming Waves, shows a boy working at sea, taken in Croatia with an iPhone 13 Pro.
This award-winning animal photograph, taken by Skye Snyder with an iPhone 12 Pro Max in California, USA, won the prize.
The photo "Life in a Tube-shaped Building" by Chinese author Jinsong Hu, taken with an iPhone 12 Pro Max in Chongqing, topped the Cityscape category.
Scott Galloway is the leading photographer in the Nature category with his "Wonder Wheel" photo taken with an iPhone 12 Pro Max in Ohio.
The winning landscape photograph by Ton Ensing was taken with an iPhone 12 Pro in the Netherlands.
This award-winning travel photo, taken by Long Nguyen with an iPhone 12 Pro in Paris, France, was the winning entry.
The Architecture award goes to The Great Synagogue, photographed in Sydney with an iPhone 11 Pro Max by Edwin Cabingan.
The photograph "Majestic Bald Cypress Stand" was taken by Pamela-Jones Morton.
