Travel blogger Nguyen Thanh Tuan is famous for his cross-country trips across the S-shaped strip of Vietnam. Recently, he set foot in Kon Tum and thoroughly explored the Mang Ri terraced fields located at the foot of the majestic Ngoc Linh mountain.
People often go to the remote Northwest to enjoy and take pictures of the golden terraced fields covering the hillsides. Few people know that even in the Central Highlands there is a golden season like that. Mang Ri Valley, Tu Mo Rong District, Kon Tum is often called the "foggy land" in the North Central Highlands because the climate here is cool all year round.

Not as majestic as the terraced fields in the Northwest, Mang Ri terraced fields still bring a strange beauty to the plateau that captivates many people.
If you have the opportunity to come during the rice harvest season, you will admire the image of mountain girls harvesting golden ripe rice flowers on winding terraced fields, in the middle of immense mountains and forests. Everyone will immediately think of the Northwest mountains with majestic terraced fields. But this is Mang Ri, a valley that is glowing with the golden color of ripe rice on the Ngoc Linh mountain plateau.
From above, the terraced fields on the hillside, interspersed with villages with soaring communal houses, look like a beautiful landscape painting.
Nguyen Thanh Tuan said: "The road from the center of Dak Glei to the end of Mang Ri - Tu Mo Rong is about 75 km, the winding road has many landslides and is very steep, you should only go when the weather is sunny, the vehicle needs to be checked carefully before going. In addition, Ngoc Linh also has many other places for visitors to experience such as mountain climbing, forest trekking...
July - August is usually the time when the rice ripens. People do not plant rice at the same time, some places have been harvested for more than a month, some are still ripening, and the places facing Mang Ri are still green.
The Central Highlands terraced fields have something very different, on the main roads you can admire the beauty of the rice and the pretty little houses.
In addition to the high value Ngoc Linh ginseng, people also grow Ngoc Linh ginseng, almost every house dries it in the yard along with other medicinal herbs.
Ethnic people are extremely cute, cheerful and always welcome tourists.
Terraced fields not only provide food but also show the will to rise, the desire for prosperity and the level and creativity in production labor of the people in the highlands.

Nguyen Thanh Tuan added: "Due to the rainy season, when I got to the intersection of Ho Chi Minh road and turned here, it was raining heavily, it was dark, there were no motels or homestays there, so I had to go another 10 km to the center of Dak Glei to sleep. Although the road is better than before, there are still many landslides and narrow slopes that are difficult to travel."
If you have the opportunity to visit Mang Ri, Ngoc Linh mountain, visitors will be able to admire the beautiful golden terraced fields. The yellow color of ripe rice, combined with the deep green of the Central Highlands mountains and forests, adds to Mang Ri's poetic and captivating beauty.
