Tourists from all over the world flock to South Africa to spend the night in this idyllic wooden house. What makes this house, called Lion House, so interesting is that it's located in a GG reserve, home to over 70 lions.

Suzanne Scott, the homeowner and tour guide, said that guests must be escorted and transported by car to the property, as it is located in the middle of a lion sanctuary.

The house is surrounded by a fence to ensure the safety of visitors. Lions often come close to this fence, giving visitors the opportunity to observe them from a close distance.

The most interesting area of the house is the veranda, where visitors can relax, drink coffee, watch the sunrise or sunset, and observe the lions in their daily activities. They often play in the water. If you're lucky, you might even see them feeding. According to Scott, lions are intelligent and full of personality.
When you're not out exploring nature, you can enjoy the warm atmosphere inside the house. Each room here has a large bed and big windows. The house has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a fireplace, and Wi-Fi. The price per night is around $104 USD.

However, visitors to Lion House don't just come to stay inside. The surrounding natural scenery, including the Drakensberg Mountains, is a major attraction. Although the house is located within a lion reserve, the GG actually spans thousands of hectares.
Besides lions, you can also sign up for tours to see zebras, black antelopes, imapla, wildcats, ostriches, and more. The majestic scenery around Lion House will leave visitors in awe.

The lions here are classified as endangered and in need of rescue and conservation. They are victims of habitat destruction, poaching, and disease. According to Scott, few people know that lions are an endangered species. Their numbers have decreased from 500,000 to 20,000 in 50 years.

The money earned from renting this house is used for conservation. Because of its uniqueness and significance, Lion House has become a highly-rated overnight accommodation for tourists. It's an ideal destination for those who want to connect with nature and experience the thrill of being near the "king of animals."
