The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has just issued a document announcing the exemption of entrance fees to the Hue historical complex for female tourists wearing traditional ao dai on International Women's Day, March 8th.
This activity is part of the "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai" project and aims to honor the traditional cultural value of the Ao Dai, while also attracting tourists to Hue.
Accordingly, all female visitors wearing traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) to visit historical sites within the Hue Imperial Citadel complex on March 8, 2024, will be exempt from 100% of the entrance fee.
A group of young people wearing traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses pose for a photo in front of the Trường Lang corridor in the Hue Imperial Palace.
This is the third year that Thua Thien Hue has implemented this activity. Over the past two years, the program has received a positive response from a large number of tourists, contributing to spreading the image of the Hue ao dai - a distinctive cultural symbol of this dreamy land.
It is known that the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) has been formed and developed in Hue for over 300 years, closely associated with its role as the capital of Dang Trong (Southern Vietnam). Through many historical ups and downs, the ao dai has retained its value and become an indispensable part of the cultural life of the people of Hue.
With the desire to preserve and promote this traditional cultural beauty, Thua Thien Hue province has implemented the project "Hue - The Capital of Ao Dai". Through this, the province encourages residents and tourists to actively wear ao dai in daily life activities, contributing to creating an image of Hue as elegant, graceful, and rich in cultural identity.
