Travel to France right in the heart of Hanoi

This is the first time the annual festival event introducing French culture has been held in Hanoi after many successful events in Ho Chi Minh City. If the event previously focused only on cuisine, this time in Hanoi, the organizers want to bring the most quintessential and characteristic features of French culture to the public.

Sharing at the press conference of the event, Ambassador Bertnand Lortholary said: “The French Festival 2018 (Balade en France 2018) focuses on two major contents: culture and tourism. This year's festival will bring the opportunity for people to "travel to France right in the heart of Hanoi", experience the feeling of walking on the "streets of Paris" during Christmas, enjoy the cuisine and typical art of the hexagonal country". In addition, he also hopes that, through this year's festival, the diplomatic and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and France will become stronger, writing a new bright future.

According to the plan of the Organizing Committee, at the large stage in the Ly Thai To monument area, the public will be immersed in the cultural space and enjoy a French music party with more than 30 performances throughout the festival days performed by Vietnamese and French artists. In addition, French culture is also portrayed through art performances, outdoor film screenings, cooking, street painting... and especially the Christmas tree lighting ceremony to celebrate a peaceful Christmas season.

"Sculpture", one of the typical outdoor art activities of French culture, will be introduced to the public within the framework of the festival.

The French Embassy in Vietnam also took this opportunity to promote the “Green Embassy” project to the people of the capital. This is one of the projects being vigorously implemented by the embassy with the basic content of raising awareness of environmental protection, changing the behavior of using plastic bags, increasing the habit of using public transport and planting more trees in the living or working area.
