FORD RANGER SET THE STANDARD FOR PICKUP TRUCKS
Ranger's results were driven by best-ever full-year sales in Thailand, the Philippines, and New Zealand. The Ford Ranger continues to hold its position as the best-selling pickup truck for many consecutive years in New Zealand and Vietnam.

The launch of the new high-performance Ranger Raptor pickup truck in several countries across the Asia Pacific region in the third quarter of 2018 contributed to record sales for the Ranger line in 2018, with a total of 5,030 vehicles sold.
With impressive annual sales records for a decade, the Ranger has set the standard for the pickup truck segment in the Asia-Pacific region with its perfect combination of durability, powerful performance, smart technology, fuel efficiency, and striking design.

The new Ford Ranger variants offer a pickup truck with enhanced performance, incorporating cutting-edge technology, comfort, and safety features, including a robust and modern twin-turbo diesel engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

“The new powertrain delivers greater torque, the improved engine delivers better fuel economy, and the upgraded suspension has enhanced the Ranger’s handling capabilities. These upgrades allow us to continue developing the vehicle based on the long-standing ‘Built Ford Tough’ characteristic that customers expect from Ford trucks,” said Gary Boes, Ford’s Product Development Director for Asia Pacific.
2018 saw record retail sales for the Ranger across the region.
With a surge of 25%, equivalent to 55,389 vehicles sold, Ford Thailand leads Ranger sales in the Asia Pacific region and continues to hold its position as the best-selling Ranger market globally. Ranger's market share increased by 0.2%, reaching 12.4%, maintaining its third-place position in the highly competitive pickup truck segment in Thailand.

In Australia,The Ranger recorded strong growth in the highly competitive 4x4 pickup truck segment, with sales reaching 42,143 units. At the end of 2018, the Ranger held the second position in the segment and was among the top 5 best-selling models for the 40th consecutive month in the country.
In the Philippines, the Ranger also achieved record sales in 2018, with full-year retail sales increasing by 9%, reaching an all-time high of 11,604 vehicles sold, accounting for over 20% of the entire segment.
In New Zealand, the Ranger was the nation's best-selling vehicle for the fourth consecutive year, with the largest sales gap in history over its closest competitor in the segment. Sales increased 5% year-over-year, reaching a record 9,884 units sold, giving the Ranger a 26% market share in the segment.
Holding a 40% market share, the Ranger continues to maintain its position as the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam for the fifth consecutive year, with 8,675 units sold.
In Malaysia, Ranger sales increased by 19% year-on-year, reaching 6,664 vehicles, contributing to a 1.4% increase in the model's market share to 15% and helping it reclaim the number two position in the pickup truck market there.
