Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, people seek out craft activities as a way to slow down and enjoy the joy of creating with their hands. Since May 2025, Lanh Workshop has become a new art destination with dozens of DIY (do it yourself) activities for anyone to try. Among more than 30 workshops such as painting, making scented candles, decorating phone cases..., the two most popular signature activities are mosaic stone painting and air-drying clay modeling.

From ancient art to modern creative spaces
Mosaic is an ancient art form, appearing from the 3rd millennium BC in Mesopotamia, flourishing in the Roman and Byzantine periods when covering floors, domes, walls of palaces and churches with small pieces of pottery, stone, glass. In Vietnam, the most prominent work is the Hanoi Ceramic Road - a kilometer-long outdoor mosaic painting, recreating history and culture on each piece of pottery.
Nowadays, mosaic is no longer just a heritage displayed in museums or large buildings, but has become a community art activity. And at Lanh workshop, mosaic is put into wooden molds in the shape of a unicorn head, a jade rabbit, a butterfly wing… - images associated with Mid-Autumn Festival and childhood memories.

Today, mosaic painting has become an accessible art form.

Mosaic products at Lanh
The Mid-Autumn Festival mosaic workshop at Lanh Workshop started on September 13, 2025 with many beautiful mosaic models, suitable for both adults and children. Mosaic is quite simple but attractive, making participants forget the concept of time.
First, customers choose the painting mold, then choose the stones in different colors of blue, red, yellow, orange, purple, white, and black from the trays to arrange according to their own aesthetic eyes. Once the layout is determined, they use glue to stick the stones onto the mold. There is no need to fit them tightly, participants can mix colors and sizes to make the painting more vivid.
Before assembling the picture, customers choose the type of mold and color of mosaic stone to use.

Small pieces of rock are for adult use only.
The final step is to spread white powder on the surface to fill the gap, dry it and wipe it clean. In just 1-2 hours, a mosaic with a personal touch is completed. For children, Lanh prepares large stones with rounded edges to ensure safety. Adults can try their hand at smaller pieces of stone, which require meticulousness and dexterity.
Spread white powder to fill the gaps between the stones.

Create moonlit night with air-drying clay
Along with mosaic, air-dry clay modeling is another signature activity that attracts a large number of participants. Here, participants are guided by staff through each step from mixing clay colors, shaping detailed shapes to coloring and fixing. Finally, a layer of clear paint is applied to help the work maintain its durability. Without many complicated tools, with just hands and patience, anyone can create a product with their own mark.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, visitors will experience making cakes from clay using real molds, molding white rabbits, moons, and stars. Every little detail, from the rabbit ears to the flower petals on the cake, is a memorable creative moment. And like mosaics, clay molding is not only a craft experience, but also a way to evoke the spirit of the festival, joy and excitement through colorful creations.
Cover the entire surface of the molded clay with a coat of clear paint.
From colorful mosaics to moon cakes or clay rabbits, activities at Lanh are not just about creative games. It is also a way for participants to create memories by themselves, connecting handicrafts with the spirit of reunion during the festival season. In addition, this place is also organizing other workshops to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival such as making paper lanterns, painting masks...

Not only organizing seasonal and festival workshops to avoid duplication, Lanh also accepts business and charity workshops to spread the spirit of art to the community.
