Glamping, a portmantein ofglamorous(luxurious) andfishing(Glamping), simply put, is a "luxury" type of camping. Like other forms of camping, glamping offers visitors the experience of living in nature, but with full and luxurious services and amenities that are no less impressive than any 5-star hotel.
In China, the glamping trend is considered to be very attractive to tourists in general, and to urban youth in particular – who are "obsessed" with luxurious camping, ahead of many countries reopening to international tourism this year.

Chen Xin, a veteran in China's tourism industry, says this new trend helps reduce urban pressure by creating a sense of peace as campers immerse themselves in nature. She added that she has seen many tourists participating in glamping at beautiful destinations, doing nothing but relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty.
Gazing at the starry night sky while relaxing in a glamping tent, or leisurely sitting under the shade of trees outdoors, sipping coffee while admiring the plants and flowers, are certainly delightful experiences. Perhaps that's why more and more Chinese tourists, especially young people, are choosing such vacations, making glamping a new trend in leisure travel that allows them to slow down and escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.

During the "Golden Week" holiday celebrating China's National Day in early October, young tourist Zhao Yue from Beijing enjoyed a novel experience with her friends at a beautiful glamping area in Gannan (Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture), Gansu Province in northeastern China.
In the glamping area of Gannan, there are rows of tents, including steel-frame tent hotels, decorated in a Tibetan style combined with modern amenities, which is very attractive to urban travelers like Zhao Yue.

“While everything in Beijing is geared towards efficiency, here time seems to slow down as we experience our vacation in a tent hotel. Glamping amidst breathtaking scenery with majestic mountains surrounding us, combined with tradition, luxury, and modernity, gives us the opportunity to live in pristine nature,” shared Zhao Yue.
At a price of 1,000 yuan (US$157) per room per night in a tent hotel, Zhao Yue says she still longs for more glamping vacations, as glamping provides many people with a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Tents, set up in forests, valleys, grasslands, or along rivers, are becoming increasingly popular with Chinese tourists. Many young travelers prefer to pitch their tents at campsites that also rent equipment, further enriching the glamping experience with their unique characteristics.
