02/06/2025

The Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnam Railways, has launched the luxury tourist train "Hoa Phuong Do" (Red Phoenix Flower) - a new symbol for Vietnam's railway tourism, serving as a high-class bridge between the two major cities of Hanoi and Hai Phong.

May 13, 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the complete liberation of Hai Phong Port City. Throughout this long journey, Hai Phong has not only risen strongly on the socio-economic map but also affirmed its position as an important cultural and tourism center in Northern Vietnam. More than just a means of transportation, the "Red Phoenix Flower" train is positioned as a unique tourism product, elevating the rail travel experience. The train consists of 20 brand-new carriages, featuring a modern and comfortable design, reflecting the rich local culture.

"Traveling from Da Nang to Hanoi to experience the Red Flamboyant Flower Week, especially admiring nature from a special train commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong city in a different way. It was my first time sitting in such a modern and comfortable train compartment. This will likely be an unforgettable memory for me," shared Mr. Van Phuc, a passenger from Da Nang.

On the Red Phoenix Flower train

Named after the symbolic flower of Hai Phong, "Red Phoenix Flower" not only evokes memories of vibrant red summers but also embodies a youthful, creative, and connected spirit, reflecting the stature of Hai Phong in its new phase of development.

The train is expected to become an attractive highlight for domestic and international tourists visiting Hai Phong, allowing them to enjoy a relaxing journey while exploring the beautiful scenery along the railway line, from the peaceful villages of Northern Vietnam to the modern life of the port city.

Indochine VIP Car - A luxurious space in the heart of the train.

The most distinctive feature of "Hoa Phượng Đỏ" (Red Phoenix Flower) lies in its two VIP carriages – a convergence of exquisite design and meticulous attention to detail. Inspired by the Indochine style, a blend of traditional East Asian aesthetics and Western elegance, the VIP carriages open up a captivating world, where each passenger feels transported back to the nostalgic Indochina era, yet with international-standard amenities.

Carefully selected natural wood flooring, along with a high-quality PVC Nano wood-grain wall paneling system, creates a warm and elegant atmosphere. The interior is divided into three separate areas with single and long sofas, ensuring privacy while still being convenient for conversation, enjoying coffee, or admiring the view outside through the large windows.

The tiered ceiling, adorned with delicate floral fabrics, combined with LED strip lights and artistic table lamps, creates a dazzling atmosphere reminiscent of a miniature royal train carriage. A small bar serving coffee and drinks is cleverly positioned inside, providing a truly relaxing space. Especially noteworthy are the live musical performances held on board, elevating the travel experience to a new level – a vibrant and artistic space right on the tracks.

The train's exterior is also impressively designed with three main colors: blue, white, and red, directly reminiscent of the vibrant red blossoms of the flamboyant tree every summer. The soft lines combined with the bright colors make the train not only stand out at the station but also become an ideal check-in spot, especially for young people and tourists who love taking photos.

The large windows, with their fold-down fabric curtains, create a sense of closeness to nature, allowing passengers to easily admire the changing landscape through each frame. This is also a "privileged viewpoint" to capture the picturesque journey from Hanoi to Hai Phong - from sprawling rice paddies to ancient train stations, from tranquil villages to modern bridges connecting the two banks of the river.

Not only focusing on VIP carriages, the "Red Phoenix Flower" train is comprehensively invested in both interior design and services. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the carriages, allowing passengers to easily work, entertain themselves, or share their journey moments on social media.

In particular, the 56-seat carriages are equipped with 180-degree swivel seats – a small improvement but one that makes a big difference. Passengers can flexibly adjust their seating direction to avoid motion sickness and proactively choose the most comfortable seating angle. Details such as individual charging sockets and mini folding tables also contribute to comfort and convenience throughout the journey.

Modern air conditioning, natural wood flooring, and excellent soundproofing and vibration damping materials help reduce noise and create a tranquil space – ideal for light conversations or simply a short nap as the train glides gently through the countryside.

The appearance of the "Red Phoenix Flower" train is not only an impressive welcome to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong, but also marks a significant step forward in the tourism mindset of Vietnam's railway industry. From a simple means of transportation, trains have now become a "green tourism product," environmentally friendly and deeply connected to the cultural identity of each region they pass through.

As the demand for personalized experiences and the trend towards sustainable travel increasingly rise, "Hoa Phuong Do" (Red Phoenix Flower) has promptly captured the spirit of the times: not only transporting passengers from point A to point B, but also guiding them on a multi-layered journey of meaning, where comfort meets culture, where modernity connects with tradition, and where every trip is worth cherishing in the heart.

Embrace the future from today's tracks.

After the pandemic, the railway industry went through an unprecedented difficult period. But with its strong comeback, especially through projects like "Hoa Phuong Do" (Red Phoenix Flower), we can see a spirit of innovation, adaptability, and breakthrough spreading throughout the industry.

The train is not only a symbol of the connection between two major economic and tourism centers in the North, but also an affirmation of the ability to innovate and keep up with the trends of integration and development. Each train journey is also a promise of a modern, attractive, and more accessible railway future for people's lives.

“Red Phoenix Flower” is a meaningful tribute commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong, the result of close cooperation between the local government and the railway industry in promoting civilized and modern tourism. More than just a means of transportation, “Red Phoenix Flower” is a poetic invitation: board the train, sit in your seat, listen to the sound of the wheels grinding against the rails, and let this journey take you to beautiful things – between modernity and memory, between speed and tranquility, between Hanoi and Hai Phong.
