According to the plan, on the evening of April 29th, train SE1 will depart from Hanoi station and train SE4 will depart from Saigon station. Both trains are expected to meet at 12 noon on April 30th at Da Nang station, creating a symbolic image of connection between the two regions of the country. Notably, the train carriages on this route are specially designed, bearing the strong imprint of culture and history, aiming to provide passengers with a meaningful and profound experience.
Special train carriage design to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
To show appreciation for those who contributed to the revolution, the railway industry is implementing a program offering a 40% discount on train tickets for eligible individuals such as war invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, and relatives of those who rendered meritorious service. The program runs from April 24th to May 9th, with tickets sold directly at train stations. Passengers are required to bring supporting documents when purchasing tickets and boarding the train.
In addition, to meet the increased travel demand during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the railway sector is adding more trains on key routes. Specifically, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route will have two additional SE9 trains on April 29th and 30th, in addition to the five regularly operating Thong Nhat trains. Other routes such as Hanoi - Hai Phong, Saigon - Da Nang, and Saigon - Nha Trang will also have additional trains to serve passengers.

On December 31, 1976, two trains named Thong Nhat departed from Hanoi and Saigon stations, connecting North and South Vietnam by rail.
Specifically, from now until the end of the holiday period, each successful ticket booking transaction will be displayed with a red flag with a yellow star on the online ticketing system, contributing to the formation of the "Reunification Train" image in cyberspace, expressing the spirit of solidarity and national pride.
Organizing the "Reunification Train" is not just a regular transportation activity; it also carries profound significance, recalling historical milestones and affirming the country's aspiration for integration and development in the new era.
