To meet the increasing travel demand during the five-day April 30th and May 1st holiday, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) has officially opened train ticket sales. This is good news for those planning to travel by train during this holiday, especially since travel demand is usually high and finding tickets can be more difficult.
Accordingly, VNR will be selling tickets from now until May 4, 2025. Specifically, tickets for trains SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, and SE7/SE8 on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City railway line will be available for sale.
To meet the increasing travel demand of people during the upcoming April 30th - May 1st holiday, Vietnam Railways has implemented various convenient and diverse ticket sales methods.
For the Hanoi - Da Nang route, tickets for train SE19/SE20 are on sale; for the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route, tickets for train SE21/22 are on sale; for the Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang route, tickets for train SNT1/2 are on sale; and for the Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet route, tickets for train SPT1/2 are on sale on weekends (weekly) and during peak holiday periods such as April 30th and May 1st.
During this peak season, the railway industry continues to offer various discounts to customers, such as discounts for social policy beneficiaries, students, trade union members, senior citizens, children, and passengers with customer cards. Passengers purchasing round-trip tickets receive a 5% discount on the return fare. Groups of 20 or more receive a 7% discount on the return fare.
In addition, based on passenger travel demand during the holiday period, VNR will organize additional passenger train services to provinces with high tourist numbers, especially on routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai; Hanoi to Vinh, Dong Hoi, Da Nang and vice versa.
Currently, train ticket sales are implemented through various methods, making it very convenient for passengers who want to buy tickets.
This not only facilitates ticket purchases for passengers but also helps alleviate pressure on the transportation system during peak days.
Passengers wishing to purchase tickets can access the official railway websites at www.dsvn.vn and www.vetau.com.vn; buy tickets through train ticket booking applications on mobile devices or via e-wallets such as Momo, ZaloPay, ViettelPay, Vnpay… Buy directly at train stations nationwide or call the ticket sales hotline 19000109 (Hanoi) 19001520 (Ho Chi Minh City) for assistance.
Buying train tickets in advance offers many benefits to passengers, especially during peak holiday seasons. It allows passengers to proactively choose their preferred seats, avoiding the situation of tickets selling out or having to sit in uncomfortable positions. Furthermore, Vietnam Railways (VNR) often has promotional programs and discounts for passengers who buy tickets early or purchase round-trip tickets. Instead of waiting and queuing at train stations, buying tickets online or through the mobile app saves passengers time and effort.
To avoid unnecessary problems, passengers should note the following when buying train tickets: after purchasing a ticket, carefully check the information such as passenger name, identification number, departure date and time, and seat number to ensure accuracy. Train tickets are important documents for boarding, so keep them safe and avoid tearing or losing them. It is advisable to arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure time to complete the boarding procedures.
