Within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2025 in Malaysia, the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2025 and the Closing Ceremony of ATF 2025 were successfully held with the theme "United in Action - Shaping ASEAN Tourism Tomorrow".
The award ceremony aims to honor units and localities with high-quality tourism products and services, promoting the sustainable development of tourist destinations in the region. There are 17 representatives from Vietnam honored to be on this list.
In the ASEAN Community Tourism Awards - CBT ASEAN category, Con Chim community tourism site (Tra Vinh province) was honored to be one of 5 units from Vietnam to receive this award. Con Chim community tourism site started operating at the end of 2019, but due to the impact of COVID-19, it was not until the end of 2022 that this land's potential was "awakened", becoming a typical green tourism destination in the Mekong Delta, attracting a large number of tourists. Con Chim has always been a destination chosen by travel businesses inside and outside the province when bringing visitors to Tra Vinh in recent years.
Come to Con Chim to enjoy the wind and feel the heart of the villagers
Surrounded by the Co Chien River, surrounded by mangrove forests and rows of water coconut trees, Con Chim has a natural area of 62 hectares with 54 households and over 200 people living there. Not bearing the typical characteristics of the islands in the Southwest river region, which are orchards, the special thing when coming to Con Chim is that visitors can immerse themselves in nature, learn and experience the "natural" livelihood and enjoy rustic Southern dishes, participate in folk games...
Nestled on Hoa Minh islet, Con Chim looks like a small bird swooping down to hunt its prey from above.
This sunny and windy land of Tra Vinh province is becoming more and more known for its community tourism model, where the villagers have the opportunity to show their warmth to travelers.
In addition, 5 other destinations are also on the list, including Huu Lien community tourism site (Huu Lung district, Lang Son province), Hong Van tourist area (Hanoi), Toom Sara village (Da Nang), and Nam Giang Co Tu community tourism cooperative (Quang Nam).
The ASEAN Homestay Awards named the homestay cluster of Tha village (Phuong Do, Ha Giang), the homestay cluster of Yen Thinh commune (Huu Lung, Lang Son), the homestay cluster of Thai Hai ethnic ecological stilt houses (Thai Nguyen), the homestay cluster of Duong Lam ancient village (Hanoi), and the homestay cluster of Giong Trom (Binh Dai, Ben Tre).
The homestay cluster of Tha village, Phuong Do commune, Ha Giang city is honored to be one of 5 units representing Vietnam to receive the ASEAN Homestay 2025 award.
More than 5 km from the center of Ha Giang city, Tha village is home to ethnic minorities, with 99% of the population being Tay. This place still retains traditional stilt houses amidst beautiful natural landscapes, bringing many experiences, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of visitors.
Receiving the Asean Homestay award is an honor for the locality, and at the same time an opportunity to promote the community tourism brand of Ha Giang province to the world.
In the ASEAN Spa Service Awards category, many spas at high-end resorts were honored such as Six Senses Con Dao Spa & Wellness Village (Six Senses Con Dao, Ba Ria Vung Tau), Yoko Onsen Spa (Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh, Quang Ninh), An Spa (Da Nang), Akoya Spa (Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An, Quang Nam), KARA SPA (Caravelle Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City).
The ASEAN Public Toilet Award was given to Saigon SkyDeck Observation Deck Public Toilet (Bitexco, Ho Chi Minh City), Van Thinh Rest Stop (Ho Chi Minh City). The best ASEAN travel press award went to AboutAsia Travel from the Asian Tourism Development Institute (Hanoi).
The ASEAN Tourism Awards are a passport for Vietnamese businesses to reach out to the international market. Being honored will help enhance the prestige and brand of the units, build trust for tourists. From there, contribute to making Vietnamese tourism a strong and attractive tourism brand on the world tourism map.
This is a great opportunity to affirm the increasingly strong position of Vietnam's tourism industry in the international arena.
2024 is a year of great success for Vietnam's tourism industry, with an impressive number of 17.6 million international visitors in 2024, a 40% increase over the previous year, Vietnam has proven its undeniable appeal to global tourists. This result has brought Vietnam to the 3rd position in Southeast Asia, just behind two tourism powerhouses, Thailand (more than 35 million visitors) and Malaysia (more than 22.4 million visitors).
