To mark the significant historical milestone of the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, Ho Chi Minh City is planning a series of spectacular events, promising memorable experiences for residents and tourists. A special highlight is the drone show featuring 10,500 drones, scheduled for the evening of April 30th – a record number never before seen in Vietnam.

According to the plan for the commemoration ceremony submitted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the night of April 30th will be a night of light and art. At 9 PM, the city sky will be illuminated by a 15-minute artistic fireworks display, launched from 30 locations along the Saigon River, both banks of the river in Thu Duc City and District 1.

Beyond the fireworks, the city also presented an unprecedented drone display, with 10,500 drones simultaneously taking to the sky, creating vivid and impressive visuals. The organizers are currently preparing documentation to propose a Vietnamese record for the largest number of drones flying at one time. This record would far surpass previous drone displays in Vietnam, where the highest number reached just over 4,000 drones.

On the night of April 30th, Ho Chi Minh City will transform into a giant stage for the colorful and emotional "National Reunification Day" celebration. This special event will be held on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, stretching along the Saigon River from Ba Son Bridge to Nha Rong Wharf, starting at 7 PM. Spectators will be immersed in a diverse artistic space, with performances and sporting activities both on land and in the water.

To commemorate this momentous event, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has proposed a series of rich cultural and sporting activities. The "Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street" will showcase outstanding works of art, capturing historical moments and the beauty of the city. The "2025 Olympic Run for Public Health" is expected to attract 4,000 participants, spreading the spirit of sportsmanship and raising public awareness of health. A mass sports performance involving 1,400 people will deliver impressive and vibrant displays.

Throughout April and May, the city will be ablaze with color with the "Festival of Colors," held on Saturday evenings (April 19th, 26th, May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st) and Tuesday evenings (April 29th), from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. The open-air stage in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building, the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area, and the Saigon River (from Ba Son Bridge to Nha Rong Wharf) will host spectacular light and art performances. The highlight of the program will be an artistic fireworks display and a drone show featuring 1,000 to 2,000 drones, funded through social contributions.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience impressive activities with many promotional programs.

The "Festival of Colors" also offers top-notch artistic experiences with symphony concerts and mapping performances – a technique using light and images to create vivid 3D effects. Along the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, audiences will enjoy unique musical and artistic performances. On the Saigon River, sweet melodies of traditional Vietnamese folk music will resonate, along with a parade of illuminated boats and sailboats, impressive water jet flying, Flyboard, paddleboarding, and paragliding demonstrations.
