Tourists need to carefully research information about special tour packages, especially those with cheaper-than-normal prices, and choose tourism service providers that meet legal requirements: They must possess a Business Registration Certificate, a Domestic and International Travel Service Business License, a Decision recognizing the classification of the tourist accommodation establishment, and a document notifying the results of the inspection of minimum conditions regarding technical facilities and services of the tourist accommodation establishment issued by a competent state agency.
Proactively verify the information in the travel contract (booking confirmation, quality, service price, duration, tour program, tour guide; facilities of the accommodation establishment, etc.).
Actively seek information about organizations and individuals providing tourism services on their websites:http://csdl.vietnamtourism.gov.vn/.
To ensure the legitimate rights and interests of tourists when using tourism services, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued several recommendations for tourists.
The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also noted several violations so that tourists can proactively prevent them:
- Engaging in tourism business without meeting the necessary business requirements, lacking a license to operate domestic or international travel services, or failing to ensure business conditions are met during operation;
- Engaging in discriminatory behavior towards tourists, competing for tourists, and pressuring tourists to buy goods or services;
- Advertising that misrepresents the type or category of tourist accommodation as recognized by competent state authorities; advertising the type or category of tourist accommodation before it has been recognized by competent state authorities.
Upon discovering violations, organizations and individuals are requested to promptly provide information to the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in their respective localities, and the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism via the hotline.
