At the conference on disseminating new documents aimed at accelerating the recovery and development of Vietnam's tourism industry effectively and sustainably, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet announced that the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam have officially come into effect.
A relaxed visa policy will help Vietnam attract more international tourists.
"With new visa policies such as extending the validity period of e-visas from 30 days to 90 days, and increasing the unilateral visa-free temporary stay period to 45 days, Vietnam's tourism industry is facing a strong opportunity to promote the attraction of international tourists to Vietnam, especially in organizing long-stay tours," Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet emphasized.
According to Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet, the tourism industry needs to promptly seize the opportunities presented by more relaxed visa policies as a leverage to help the industry develop significantly and rapidly increase the number of international tourists to Vietnam. Local authorities need to promote the dynamism, creativity, and driving role of businesses in the recovery and development of tourism. Tourism associations should play a role in supporting member businesses, strengthening connections, helping businesses overcome difficulties together, proactively adapt, recover quickly, and develop sustainably.
The conference disseminated new documents aimed at accelerating the recovery and boosting the effective and sustainable development of Vietnam's tourism industry, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In addition to a relaxed visa policy, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the Vietnam Tourism Marketing Strategy to 2030 with the goal of identifying, promoting, and positioning Vietnam as a leading attractive tourist destination in Southeast Asia, affirming the brand and competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism, and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Project on Several Models for Developing Nighttime Tourism Products will create conditions for the development of diverse, unique, sustainable, high-quality, and high-value-added nighttime tourism products in Vietnam; thereby increasing tourist attraction, boosting spending, and extending the length of stay of domestic and international tourists, contributing to making nighttime tourism a key product for developing Vietnam's nighttime economy.
