Jeollanam-do Province in South Korea grants visa-free entry to Vietnamese visitors.

On the afternoon of February 25th, in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa province), Jeollanam-do province (South Korea) and the Korea Tourism Organization signed a cooperation agreement to organize visa-free tour programs with travel companies in Vietnam.

Accordingly, as part of the tourism development plan between Vietnam and South Korea, Korean travel agencies, Pacific Airlines, and Vietnamese travel companies are cooperating to organize a visa-free tour program to Jeollanam-do province for residents of Khanh Hoa, the South Central provinces, the Central Highlands in particular, and Vietnamese tourists in general.

This is the first visa-free tour since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed at meeting the demand for tourism in South Korea among Vietnamese visitors.

The parties committed to promoting the operation of one flight per week, with an expected 43 charter flights (nearly 10,000 passengers) during the period from April to October 2023. Specifically, the flight will depart at 00:10 every Saturday using Pacific Airlines aircraft and return at 00:30 the following Wednesday, starting from April 14, 2023.

It is expected that from April to October, approximately 10,000 Vietnamese people will purchase tours to Jeollanam-do province under the visa exemption policy.

According to Kim Yung Rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do province, in addition to a 15-day visa exemption, Vietnamese tourists visiting Jeollanam-do province will receive various preferential support from the government regarding transportation and accommodation costs.

The Korean side also provided information on attractive destinations in Jeollanam-do such as the tea hills of Boseong County, Seonamsa Temple, visiting the ancient fortress village of Naganeupseong, visiting Suncheon Bay National Park, Suncheon K-drama filming location… along with tourism products such as horseback riding on Shinan Beach, rafting through Gokseong Waterfall…

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, in addition to promoting Vietnamese tourists to South Korea, South Korea is currently the largest international tourist market for Khanh Hoa province. It is estimated that from the beginning of the year until now, Khanh Hoa province has welcomed over 90,000 overnight visitors from South Korea.

In recent years, Korean tourists have been very fond of visiting Khanh Hoa due to the convenient air travel. Flight time from Seoul, Busan, and Daegu (South Korea) to Khanh Hoa is just over 4 hours. Currently, there are about 10 flights daily from South Korea to Cam Ranh International Airport, making it very convenient for tourists to travel there.

According to representatives from several travel companies specializing in receiving South Korean tourists, in addition to Jeollanam-do province, Jeju Island and Gangwon province also offer visa-free entry for Vietnamese visitors.
