More time for tourists to experience the experience.
From August 15th, the new visa policy allows visitors from certain countries to stay visa-free for up to 45 days, and extends the validity of e-visas from 30 days to 90 days, allowing multiple entries. This is good news for the tourism industry in boosting international visitor numbers in the coming period.
Mr. Ho Thanh Tu, Secretary General of the Da Nang Tourism Association, said that since the tourism market reopened, the city has implemented many tourism promotion activities, attracting a significant number of international tourists from key markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
However, with the visa extension of up to 90 days, we have more opportunities to attract tourists and increase their spending, as the visa extension will allow visitors more time to experience the services in the localities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, General Director of Furama Resort Da Nang, extending the entry visa to 90 days will give us a new market share of tourists, including those seeking leisure and accommodation; we will also attract tourists visiting relatives and those traveling across Vietnam... and thereby increase the number of overnight stays for tourists in Vietnam.
"Along with extending entry visas for international tourists, we also expect to develop longer-stay tourism products, such as those combined with medical centers, beauty salons, health care facilities, and resort packages to meet the needs of tourists staying for extended periods," Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh shared.
Mr. Quynh added that recently, some localities in Central Vietnam welcomed the first charter flights from China, and more direct flights from India will be arriving soon. This is a positive sign for the tourism industry in Central Vietnam as well as the whole country.

Consider expanding the number of countries and territories eligible for visa-extended validity.
Mr. Steven Wolstenholme, Chairman and CEO of Hoianna Resort & Golf, affirmed that this is an excellent policy for businesses in the tourism industry. Extending the validity period of the e-visa to 90 days will give international tourists more time and opportunities to explore and experience more services in Vietnam.
Mr. Steven Wolstenholme suggested that Vietnam should consider expanding the number of countries and territories eligible for this visa validity period, which would further facilitate international tourism to Vietnam. A flexible and long-term visa policy would enhance competitiveness, making Vietnam more attractive to international visitors and acting as a catalyst for tourism development.
According to Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, the government's new visa policy will contribute to enhancing the country's competitiveness as a destination compared to some countries in the region; create better conditions for businesses in attracting tourists; and facilitate international visitors to Vietnam in general, and Da Nang in particular, especially those from markets with a need for long stays, such as Western Europe, North America, and Australia.
Mr. Cao Tri Dung also added that with the new visa policy, tourists coming to Vietnam find it very convenient, being able to apply for e-visas in a short time. This helps attract a diverse range of tourists of various nationalities to Vietnam. This is a huge step forward, in line with the current trend of changing tourist structure, where individual travelers are increasing dramatically.
Following the trend of digital commerce, individual travelers and families will be the majority. Tourists will proactively apply for visas through online platforms, not to mention the 90-day validity of e-visas, which is very significant for market segments wanting to travel for winter, work, or investment, without spending as much time traveling as before. "This can be considered the biggest breakthrough in visa application policy, a huge step forward for the tourism industry in general," affirmed the Chairman of the Da Nang City Tourism Association.
