Launch of direct flights connecting Thua Thien Hue to Seoul (South Korea)

This was also the first flight from the new terminal at Phu Bai International Airport in Thua Thien Hue province to Incheon International Airport (South Korea).

The first flight connecting Hue with Seoul is operated as a charter flight using Vietjet's modern A321 aircraft, bringing residents and tourists from the ancient capital of Hue to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and vice versa.

Passengers on the inaugural flight were welcomed by leaders from both localities, the tourism industry, the airport, partner organizations, and local people… and especially received gifts reflecting the distinct cultural identities of Vietnam and Korea during the flight, along with a modern fleet of aircraft, dedicated and friendly flight attendants, and a diverse range of products and services to meet all customer requirements.

The charter flight departing from Phu Bai International Airport to Incheon on the morning of August 1st carried 228 passengers from Thua Thien Hue province, including a delegation promoting tourism and cultural heritage of Thua Thien Hue. The delegation, led by the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Nguyen Thanh Binh, aimed to launch activities to meet with and promote tourism and cultural heritage in Seoul and Goechang (South Korea).

In South Korea, the delegation will hold a forum to promote tourism and showcase Hue's cultural heritage in Seoul on August 4th. Prior to that, the delegation will have meetings and working sessions with several cultural and tourism partners in Seoul and Goechang.

On the return flight from Incheon to Hue, a delegation of South Korean travel and media representatives flew to Hue on August 1st, bringing 151 passengers to survey activities and programs aimed at bringing more South Korean tourists to the ancient capital of Hue and the Central Vietnam heritage route.

The Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, in coordination with relevant units, organized a program to welcome the South Korean tourism survey and media delegation on a charter flight from Incheon to Hue.

The Korean delegation will undertake a 4-day, 3-night tour and survey program of the ancient capital of Hue, featuring activities to explore and experience destinations and products (which have been researched and selected by the Thua Thien Hue tourism industry and Korean partners, and included in a program specifically designed for the Korean charter group). The program will highlight the most distinctive cultural heritage of the imperial court as well as new and innovative aspects built upon the traditional foundations of the ancient capital of Hue.

The group will also be introduced to new products related to the emerging forms of wellness and wellness tourism in the area, and experience Zen Tea with spiritual tourism at a Hue temple. They will also visit an exhibition and demonstration of traditional Hue ao dai tailoring, and enjoy typical Hue cuisine: royal court, vegetarian, and seafood from the Tam Giang lagoon. Finally, some members of the group will also have the opportunity to experience golf at the Laguna Lang Co resort complex.

Hue - Seoul (Incheon, South Korea) is the second international route operated by Vietjet at Terminal 2 of Phu Bai International Airport. Prior to this, Vietjet was also the first airline to operate an international route to Phu Bai Airport from Kunming (China), opening up opportunities for the development of tourism and trade.
