According to information from the leaders of Hoi An City, in the past period, due to the impact of the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hoi An was quite quiet and deserted. However, when the pandemic situation was brought under control, Hoi An city welcomed thousands of tourists every day, and tourism activities gradually recovered.

According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2021, the city welcomed more than 146,000 visitors to Hoi An (including 8,420 visitors who purchased entrance tickets), demonstrating the unique appeal of a trading port city known as a "peaceful place" for tourists to visit.

2021 is predicted to remain challenging, but with efforts from the central government to the local level, Hoi An will organize many attractive activities and events from March 20th to May 1st, 2021, to officially restart Hoi An's tourism activities post-Covid-19, such as: programs in response to International Happiness Day (March 20th), organizing "Hoi An Ancient Town Night" (March 26th), and the "Earth Hour" (March 27th) with lights off.

In particular, the "Hoi An-Show" live performance will be the first to recreate the ancient Hoi An trading port with legendary stories about the Japanese Bridge (March 28). Following that, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a musical tribute to composer Trinh Cong Son with the theme "One Day Like That, You Left," performed by singer Anh Tuyet and other famous singers KyoYork, Tan Dao, Phi Thuy Hanh, Quynh Lan, etc., on April 1st.

In addition, the Korean Embassy and the Korean Cultural Center will collaborate with Quang Nam province and Hoi An city to organize the "Korean Culture Days in Quang Nam" event, which will be held in Hoi An with many attractive cultural and artistic exchange, experience, and performance activities. The event will take place from April 9-11.

In addition, Hoi An prioritizes COVID-19 prevention measures in accordance with the 5K guidelines, ensuring the goal of building Hoi An into a friendly and safe destination. At ticket counters and tourist attractions, staff wear masks and provide hand sanitizer for visitors.

Visitors to Hoi An are required to purchase entrance tickets to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the Hoi An World Heritage site. In particular, Hoi An continues to offer a 50% discount on entrance tickets for visitors to the Old Town, Thanh Ha pottery village, and Tra Que vegetable village.
