This year, Ramadan – the Muslim month of fasting and prayer – ended on April 21st with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, also known as Bayram, the fasting and abstinence festival. This is an important holiday for Muslims. For the past month, Muslims around the world have refrained from eating, drinking, and smoking to focus on spiritual reflection, prayer, and charity.
